Summary: I Can Identify!
Review: As a "sometimes" writer (and some say a bear!) I can really identify with this book. I loved it! William Kotzwinkle is a sheer genius. Anyone who can read this and not be reeling with laughter is, in my opinion, a bear with no sense of humor!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Perfect Little Gem
Review: William Kotzwinkle has the rare and wonderful gift of seeing life exactly as it is. This is the funniest, most lovable book I've ever read. It's a little treasure, a true look at the publishing business in America today. It's too bad the book has been overlooked by so many. I'm so happy to see that so many other Amazon customers also appreciate Kotzwinkle's genius.

Summary: My all-time favorite book!
Review: I just purchased this for a friend. I would have loaned her my copy, but I've loaned it out to so many people that I can't remember where it is anymore. Basically, a bear comes out of hibernation and finds a briefcase containing a manuscript and a necktie. He puts on the tie and takes the manuscript into town. Nobody seems to notice that he is a bear. Women think he is wonderful. In the meanwhile, the poor author of the manuscript is falling apart. This book is perfect for a time when you don't really want to think. Just relax and enjoy Hal Jam's journey.

Summary: James Thurber of the 90's
Review: When I initially purchased this book I was attracted to the humorous cover, little did I know what was waiting on the inside The main character, Hal Jam, had me laughing until it hurt. I have passed this book out to more friends than any other and they all have enjoyed it. A must read!

Summary: This book made me laugh out loud!
Review: I listened to this book on tape, and laughed all the way to work. Then I yearned for the long drive back home, just to listen to this story. The other motorists on the expressways probably thought I was a crazed individual, due to my continuous laughter. I was sorry to have the book end.

Summary: Funniest book I've ever read!
Review: I read this book a few years ago when it first came out, and have never laughed out loud so much while reading a book. It is a hilarious satire on our society and the book world. I've recommended it to everyone I know, and have bought copies for everyone in my family. If you want a good time, read this book!

Summary: if the bear sees you, you can't see the bear
Review: a fun book with chuckles throughout. at times it reminded be of "being there" with all of the 'clever' comments by the bear interpreted by those who think they 'know'.
