Summary: Best comic book hero book I've ever read...
Review: ...and I've read a few. I usually don't cross Marvel and DC but Superman was a non-turn down kinda guy. I got the book when I was nine and never really got around to reading it. When I was assigned a book report, I thought that it would give me a little more insight into the new blue Superman (since I've read the book, I've also read the comic). I read it, found that have to know NOTHING about him and his cohorts to enjoy the story. I'll definatly read more books from Roger Stern.

Summary: Extremely entertaining story
Review: All three parts are distinct, yet are certainly part of a greater whole. I've heard a lot of complaints about how funeral for a friend "drags". Of course it does! Superman is dead! And besides, it's not as if the entire story comes to a standstill during this time as a great many schemes are hatched during this time.

Stern does a great job of providing background on all of the characters and their relationships. This is a glaring improvement over the comic version.

Great tale of glory, loss, confusion, and then a taste of the feeling that we all wish after we lose something that we love. You never quite appreciate something great until it's gone, and at that time you always wish you could have it back.

Summary: THE ONE for Superman Fans!
Review: Definately a great read to satisfy those super-cravings for action. Even if you weren't a fan of superman's legacy before, you will be after reading this incredible novel. A fifth of this book covers the history and origins of Superman, which no one can get tired of knowing again. The enjoyment of reading this novel is equal when compared with the action packed comics, and does justice to Superman's name.

Summary: Excellent
Review: Excellent retelling of the comic book story of Superman's death and return. Some parts were changed from the comics themselves, but it was nescessary to keep from makintg a 800 page book. Roger Stern provides much insight and Superman's death is still as emotional and powerful as it was in the comic book. A

Summary: Great for the die hard fan, or the weekend reader.
Review: Having been a Superman fan for awhile, some might say I had an edge in understanding or enjoying this book. Those people have obviously NOT read this book. It requires no background information on the subjects. All the information is given rigt to you. From the background of the main characters, to the necessary information on the most insignificant secondary character, you'll read it all.

The information is also presented to you in a easy to read yet professional manner, making it a good read for children looking for a hero to adults seeking childhood.

The greatest part of this book is it's ability to show you that any man... even one so close to being a god that he can almost feel his halo, has his limits. Not only do you get to see the man taken to those limits, but half the story is dedicated to showing you how he overcame those limits.

For anyone who loves a book that you don't want to put down, for anyone who is looking for that lost fantasy-loving inner child, and for anyone who has any kind of taste in books or love for a great hero, this is a MUST READ. Buy it, read it, share it with your friends.

Summary: The best book I have ever read
Review: I agree with someone else who did a review that if your not a Superman fan,it won't matter because this book gives you a backround of each and every character that will be involved in Superman's death.

Summary: One Great Book
Review: I don't follow comic books but felt like reading about Superman. The great things about this book are you don't have to know a thing about The Man of Steel beforehand, and also the wonderful way it ends. Excellent writing

Summary: An epic superhero masterpiece
Review: I really enjoyed this novelization of the very populor comic book serial. This book deals with Superman's death at the hands of an alien monster called Doomsday. After Superman's death, the hero's friends and family have little time to grive, because now new Superman's are popping up all over Metropolis causing mayham in his name. This was a really good book. The fight between Doomsday and Superman was appropriotly epic, and it seemed to go on forever (but in a good way). The action was very cool and just the right tone for Superman comics; nasty but not too gory. All of the side characters were dealt with correctly; from Ma and Paw Kent to berieved Lois Lane and even Lex Luthor was upset, although it was at being cheated out of his revenge. If the book had a flaw, it was just a tad too long. But I can forgive it that. I liked that the author, Roger Stern, added a lot of details that I did not know; I do not read the comics (so then it came as a huge shock that Clark and Lois were engaged and Lex Luthor is Supergirl's lover). Well, any sci-fi fan will love it, I sure did.
