Rating: Summary: Juvenile writing style a real turn off Review: I didn't find Xixor a convincingly powerful character. There were some very corny-sounding passages. It did not inspire in me AT ALL the awe one feels when watching or reading a star wars story. but even more disappointing than the book, is the fact that many fellow readers are rating it so highly! i'm at a loss.
Rating: Summary: How can you not love this book Review: In slang this book is Da Bomb. I like almost as much as Jedi academy trilogy (And being an Exar Kun fan that pretty big)And Xizor!! What a great character. He's rich, the 3rd most powerful person iin the galaxy, the ruler of Black Sun. Dash Rendar could render being more witty then Han Solo but Han is still number 1. My only little disapointment was killing Dash and Xizor off, they could have done so much more in the Sw univeres. Han be after Xixor for what he alsmost did to leia and another smuggler in the rebellion can't hurt. Pardon me if I sound imature but LONG LIVE BLACK SUN!!
Rating: Summary: one of the best atar wars novels ever writen Review: It was a great plot and the best thing was that Mr. Perry created a novel that was DURING the Star Wars Trilogy
Rating: Summary: First SW book I ever read! Shadows is a killer read! Review: At first I was very skeptical about picking up any book that followed or happend during the greatest movie trilogy of all time. Once I started reading SOTE I could not put this book down. I loved the action and storyline of the quarrel between Vader and Xizor, and Xizor's Black Sun organization. I really enjoyed the character of Xizor, though Guri could have had more life into her. The sexual nature between Xizor and Leia gave the book a realistic feeling in a sci-fi universe, luckly it wasn't too steamy. Overall I believe this is one killer book to read, and I would hope for this book to be made into a movie after the 3 new prequels are done. Please Mr. Lucas, make Shadows of the Empire into a movie!!
Rating: Summary: Just one word...WOW!!! Review: I have read many Star Wars books and let me tell you this has been the best one yet. This was one book I was really disappointed to finish, since I loved reading it so much. Xizor is a great character, and to me an even better than character than the much loved Boba Fett. All I can say is READ THIS!!! you won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: This is one Good Book Review: When my friend told me about Shadows I was just like "I'll get around to it." Then she finally got me to read it and it is now among my favorite SW books! Rendar kicks butt! I don't think he's gay... If you like Star Wars and are a die hard fan I'd reccomend this book to you. The plot's great and has a lot of cool twists.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: I loved this book! It explains the events that happened between Empire and Jedi so clearly, that it could have been a movie itself. It also answers a lot of questions, and raises a few that are answered in Return of the Jedi. A must if you are going to watch the triolgy.
Rating: Summary: Princess Leia to the Rescue!!! Review: This book was great!I really enjoyed it. Leia, Luke, Lando and Dash made a great team. Threepio adn Artoo make great pilets.
Rating: Summary: Worst of the Star Wars novels Review: Major disappointment. Can't say there were too many aspects of this novel I cared for. The characters didn't really seem like their old selves. I didn't care for the added sexual themes. (True, it's nothing graphic, but I felt it was very out of place for a Star Wars novel.) Strangely enough, the comic book mini-series was actually much better.
Rating: Summary: Fills the gap between the Star Wars movies very nicely. Review: This was my 2nd Star Wars novel that I read, and I found this one a lot better. A very good novel, and it fills the gaping hole between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi quite well. The characters are well-developed, and the story flows excellently. It has the right dose of action, as well. The only flaw is the villains. Xizor wasn't that impressive, and him and Guri are so emotionless at times that it gets dull. Nevertheless, a very good novel.
