Rating: Summary: Gives you the "Star Wars" feel better than any other book. Review: I loved it! If you have not read any other Star Wars books, then this is GREAT starting point. Also, another cool fact is that there is a comic series book and a Nintendo 64 game based on the book.
Rating: Summary: The Best Review: I thoght this was deffinately the best book in the star wars series. I thought that this book realy had some great characters. It also tells what happens from when Han gets captured until he is freed. This is one book you will not want to miss!
Rating: Summary: By far the best SW novel Review: Having read many SW novels, and feeling slight disappointment after all, this book was a wonderful suprise for me! Its plot was fast paced, and it was nice to have all the original villains back in action! The characterization of all the main characters was above and beyond the accuracy I have read to date. I was able to like Luke again after Children of the Jedi! This is the book to read for true SW fans.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME!!!!! Review: A great Sci-Fi!!!Any Star Wars fan would love it. Action packed from beginning to end.
Rating: Summary: I just felt like running Review: I don't know but reading this book felt like watching an episode of that British game show called The Crystal Maze. All the characters seem to be running from one place to another. Luke went from Tatooine then to space then back to Tatooine and then off to another place, each time encountering something, do something about a situation then moving on. Just like that game show. As if Steve Perry likes to move them from one place to another. Still, the book is an enjoyable read and the characters are true to their nature. Never thought that Vader would feel his position threatened by Xizor, the competition between the two is intense. I like how this book bridges a gap between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. What I don't like is Luke's sudden mastery of the Force. It happened like as if it's for the convenience of the story. Wouldn't it have been better he mastered it gradually after training with Yoda? As for the new character Dash Rendar, I can't help but feel that nobody likes him, not even Perry. He's so cocky and arrogant, his personality far outweighs his virtues. I wish he'd have been handled better.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: I have read a lot of the Star Wars novels, and despite steve Perry's different writing style, I really liked this book. it was a real page turner and introduced Xizor to us. I also liked that Darth Vader was in it, considering most of the SW novels take place after Return of the Jedi, he is dead and not in them. The emperor was also a nice fixture to this novel.
Rating: Summary: O.K. Review: It's O.K. but it could use a little more exiting
Rating: Summary: On Great Star Wars book!!!! Review: This Book takes you through the open gap between The Empire Strikes back and The Return of the Jedi.Darth Vader And The Evil Crimelord Prince Xizor sre the two primary characters of this book. This book was great because I love Star Wars and this book falls right into what I like.
Rating: Summary: Don't believe the hype Review: I can't believe all the fuss that has been made over this, frankly, rather pathetic story. We've had a novel, a comic book adaption, a computer game and toys and model kits released all relating to this little story which tells us what happens between Empire and Jedi. This is the book that introduces Black Sun, a huge criminal syndicate and their leader, Prince Xixor. I hate Xixor. He's a complete pile of bantha dung. And now, people keep using him in other stories, and he just annoys the hell out of me! Steve Perry is a good writer, and I enjoyed some of his 'Aliens' novels. He writes this story well, and that's okay. I just simply HATE this plot line. Dash Rendar is another annoying addition to the Star Wars universe. Perry describes people and action sequences very well, but I thought that the way he wrote the overall flow of the story left a bit to be desired. However, although the story is dull and pointless, it does give an interesting look as to what happened between the movies.
Rating: Summary: A great book for Star Wars fans and collecters Review: A good book if you like the 2nd and 3rd movies . I,am only 10 but I liked reading it.Allthow it is pretty long (385 pages in all) it leves you wanting to read it all after a few chapters.
