Rating: Summary: The best Star Wars book out there!!! Review: If you want to read a witty, fun, and enthralling adventure that fills in the gaps left between "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." A MUST READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: I read this book... Review: This was a great book, it had a good story line and decent characters. Xizor was cool. But there's enough Han Solos, which means Dash Rendar didn't need to be in this book. It was cool how the story fitted in between empire strikes back and return of the jedi.
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: This was a good Star Wars book. It had a good plot with a few exceptions, namely, the scene with Leia and Xizor -- didn't seem to belong in a Star Wars story.
Rating: Summary: This book was great Review: This book was great. Steve Perry maked you feel like your really there. Its a great story with a cool new character to the star wars series. Its got just about everything in the book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: A great Star Wars novel that is for everyone! I couldn't put it down! Steve Perry is a great author who really knows how to write. He should write more Star Wars novels. This book is highly recomended.
Rating: Summary: Thrilling and dramatic this book was great. Review: The drama in this book was really good. It had a good storyline and was fun to read. I really suggest Star Wars fans to read it.
Rating: Summary: Apparently, I was reading a different book... Review: The story told in this book was a nice idea, but really, nothing of note happened. If it weren't for Xizor, this book would not have been even half as long. Unfortunately, Xizor is a lousy character. Lacking in background, personality, or any other character aspects that make him interesting, he starts at the top, is never involved in anything, and then dies. The only aspect of character we get is that he's smug. Yay.Another new addition to the Star Wars galaxy, Dash Rendar, had limited possibility to begin with. I understand that Steve Perry wanted to write for Han Solo. Who, seriously, could blame him? But if the character you want to use is incapacitated, you don't re-create him. Or if you do, try to be more subtle about it. At the very least, don't cite the source you ripped off. When the Han Solo clone meets Han Solo's girlfriend, don't tell us her reaction is identical to when she met Han Solo! It's ridiculous! This book is despicable due to lousy storytelling. The story itself, with some reworking, could conceivably be fine. Maybe if someone rewrote this book, with better characterization, I wouldn't have such a problem with it. I may try to do so myself, if for no other reason than my own satisfaction. As a side note, I am a huge fan of Jabba the Hutt. I found the portrayal of the ruthlessly efficient, vile gangster in this book not only bad, but offensive. Read Jabba's Art of the Deal (or the 4 one-shot comics it reprints), then try to tell me that he would behave the way he did in Shadows of the Empire. Go ahead...
Rating: Summary: best book i have ever read Review: this book only needs a word HARDCORE a must for star wars fan
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest Star Wars books! Review: This book is wonderful for filling in the time between The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. There's suppossed to be a year's time between the two last movies, but you never knew what was going on during that time until you read this book. I like the Leia and Xizor thing, it's like realizing she's suppossed to be human. Leia is this perfect, no-emotions princess in most of the movies. The books show who she is on the inside, and this one is no exception. Everyone should read this book, it's a must.
Rating: Summary: Jedi Approved Review: An action-packed read! You better read this book, because you will not be able to put it down.
