Summary: Holy Moly this book is the best of the best
Review: This is an excellent book and I think that Jude Watson did a very good job at starting the Jedi Apprentice books after Dave Watson and it might have been a little bit short but she needed a little bit of expirience of the Star Wars book and believe me to and elders don't listen to the the age ratings. My brother has never been interested in Star Wars but once he read the first 2 books he wanted to see all the movies. I have never read such a book that has been this good.

Summary: Great Book
Review: I think this is a great book because it tells exactly why Qui-gon was so reluctant to have Obi-wan as his padawan(apprentice) learner. In the end though Qui-gon finally takes a shot and from what we have seen in the movie, and in the next book, he made the right choice. Any body who loves Star Wars as much as I do would love to read the back story on Qui-gon's and Obi-wan's relationship.

Summary: Even better than the first!
Review: Sure, The Dark Rival was shorter than The Rising Force, but --overall-- I liked this sequel better than the first one. It's a story of friendship, betrayal, and intrigue. It's hard to believe the solemn Obi-Wan we know in the movies had to go through all this! A MUST for all Star Wars fans!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Too short!!!
Review: I enjoyed reading it though it marked a scholastic label (ages9-12). I appreciated the fast pace & direct relay of the plot but would have enjoyed it more had it been written it a more adult-approach. I found the book too short & wished that it was a little bit longer. Good read though!

Summary: I loved the Jedi Apprentice books.
Review: The Rising Force was good, But I loved The Dark Rival. After I reached the part when Obi Wan got kidnapped I could'nt put the book down. So I finished it that night. I'm reading The Hidden past. Its OK so far.Why does Obi wan allways look so mad? Obi Wan is thirteen, but the kid on the cover looks like he's fifteen. You will love the jedi apprentice books if you liked The Phantom Meanace and if you like Obi Wan and Qui Gonn. This book is full of action with the lightsaber batles. These books are edge of you seat books and are great for kids and adults who like action and SI FI stuff.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent, well written, well worth the read
Review: As is so frequently the case, "adults" need to put aside reservations about purchasing "young people's" books. The two books in this series (I understand that the 3rd on "Hidden Past" is out, but have not seen it) are well written, more than passably structured and a good read. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in our local continuum.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book is an interesting and well written short novel.
Review: Jedi Apprentice:The Dark Rival is a book that can hold the interest of young and old. I am above the recommended age group as is my father but we both enjoyed it. The Dark Rival is a excellent continuation of the first one (The Rising Force). In this second book Qui-Gon comes face to face with Xanatos-the padawan he lost to the dark side. After helping each other out of danger (sorry I won't say exactly what happened-I don't want to spoil it for anyone) Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon reach a turning point near the end of the book and I think most readers will be pleased at the outcome.

Summary: MUST READ FOR ALL STAR WARS FANS!!!!! FOR ALL AGES : )
Review: I personally think all star wars fans (espcially all those who loved The Episode I The Phantom menace) must read this book . Absolute page turner. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are oppisite attraction, each covers the others fault. Interesting but very exciting beginning for the two jedi. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. 5 OUT OF 5. BRILLIANT!!!! : )

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very good, but too short.
Review: Exelent story, very good characters but the first and the second could be just one book. Can not wait for the next one.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I really enjoyed this book.
Review: I thought Judy Watson did a great job with all the characters. Especially Qui-Gon and Xanatos, I'm sure we will see him again!
