Summary: Not as good as the first book, but a fine read for all ages.
Review: Some young adult books are written strictly for kids, others appeal to all ages. The first book in this series fell into the latter category, while this book is a slight step down in quality. It lacks the first book's insight into the Jedi training methods and its honest portrayal of the character's emotions. However, the book does offer an evil Jedi, and it can be read in one sitting (which is both good and bad). In the end, if you're like me, you were hooked by the excellent first book, so any continuation of the series is a welcome one.

Summary: Great Storyline!
Review: I'd never have guessed the great Qui-Gon Jinn to have had an apprentice who had turned to the Darkside, well, apart from the tip-off in Book #1 of Jedi Apprentice. The storyline is great! The detail is cool. The way in which Jude Watson writes will take the Force to stop you falling out of your chair in suspense! Roll on the rest of the series!

Summary: Look at the stars. Need I say more?
Review: I loved this book, plain and simple. This book picks up where the last one left off. They arrive at Bandomeer and neither is pleased with what he finds there. Qui-Gon finds a disturbing message from his former dark side padawan, and Obi-Wan finds his new job... a farmer. Once again I like the way they show both of their point of views. I also liked the action sequence at the end and how they solve the problem. And let me say, I am touched by Obi-Wan's courage. Everyone, has to read this book. Believe me, you won't regret it.

Review: This was a great book that kept you coming back for more! You just never know when Xanatos is going to show up. This isn't my favorite J.A. book, but it's still good. Read it!

Summary: Jedi are the best!
Review: HI! Do you read jedi appretince? If you don't, only what I can say is mean! You're strange! Hurry! Go to shop, and buy or find another way to get this book! This is the best thing I ever read. I just love Qui-Gon's and Obi-Wan's adventures.(Like in the title of my pronuncement: Jedi are the best!)OH! I forget! I love Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan!Yes, yes, yes. I just can't live without them, and I can't imagine that they could to be at variance! Why? If you're give to yourself this kind of question, watch almost end scene from TPM, when Obi-Wan scream that horrible "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" :{{{{ Or when he was talking with his dying master, and when his master die of a wound...... snif.... that was so touthing! Only what we can do in this situation, is cry, cry and once again: CRYYYY! So. This is the point: Qui-Gon is like father to Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan is like son for Qui-Gon, and this kind of relationship is so touthing and beautiful! Thank you Jude! This is the best thing what you can do for us: write jedi appretince for all star wars fans. And special thanks for Mr. Lucas, who has create this characters. I think that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan will live in my heart forever. Once again: THANK YOU, AND LET THE FORCE BE WITH YOU ALL!

Summary: I love this book!
Review: I love this book it is awsome! Infact this book is so good I did a book report for school on it. It was action packed but serious at the same time.Obi-Wan was about to give his life for Qui-gon's but Qui-gon wouldn't let him. The only problem with it is that there a few typos and it is a little short . But despie these minor set-backs it was a great book so go read it right now!

Summary: The Rival
Review: Qui-Gon Jinn's past is not yet at rest. How can he forge a relationship with young Obi-Wan Kenobi while he is haunted by the betrayal of his first apprentice-Xanatos? Xanatos was a promising student . . . until the dark side of the force intervened. Qui-Gon thought he was gone forever , but now Xanatos is back. And he wants revenge.

Summary: A true to the spirt of Star Wars book
Review: Um.... Ok...how can I put this? How about ...... absolutly amazing and MORE FUN than exploding a potatoe with the Death Star's laser (OK, so I really used a potatoe in a microwave, but...) This bok was SO great! Not to put down the first book, but this one was better! Really! The storyline was great to begin with, but when the author explained the characters' feelings, it really gave it the traditional Star Wars flavor. She(the author) really captured Obi-Won's and Qui-Gon's personalities...just kept very true to the charecters. She explained Obi-Won's loyalty to Qui-Gon, and despair at not being picked as his Padawan learner. We also see a rare point of view: Qui-Gon's- his unsettled feelings toward Xantos, and growing fondness towards Obi-Won. The book really shows the essence of true friendship-which I've found, most Star Wars fans have found. Also, hte book compells the reader to be in the story- you can hear the characters saying the lines.

It is really great the way she explained how the characters feel, so that you can see not only how they feel, but why. Surprisingly, she made this book incredibly interesting, even though you could see the end coming ( even if you didn't see the movie, by the middle of this book it is obvious what will happen.) I mean, I had to FORCE (I didn't mean it like that-try the verb meaning)myself to read it slow, and it was still finished in less than a day.

I just can't emphasize enough this book portrays the characters: Obi-Won's and Qui-Gon's unique (reluctant but eventually much more than Padawan and Master), Obi-Won's own....what's the word? Come on, during the movie could you picture him as...clumsy? (Well, he is) In the book, the charecters are real people; and while they still fight with laser weapons, they have normal, everyday battles with a Star Wars spin.(That's the whole point of the Obi-Won/Qui-Gon struggle)..what I'm trying to say is that, if you apply the lessons to real life, you could most definately learn something.

And last, I, too am poor, to-be-pitied teenage-Jedi wannabe who is out of the age group. DON'T LISTEN! Actually, I think you will appreciate it better if you are older. Well, goodbye- and may you always live in a world a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away- I cetainly do.

Summary: You should buy it!
Review: I've read it and the contunuing story from the first one is so great! Dave and Jude have created an extraordinary story telling people the life of two my most favorite Jedis of all time, Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, young Obi-Wan Kenobi! It is such a thrill to imagine how Obi-Wan felt when Qui-Gon refused to take him as his padawan. Obi-Wan is such a character and I love him. Mainly because he's Ewan McGregor... Anyway, I also love Master Qui-Gonn because he's the coolest Jedi I ever met! I would like to meet Liam in person and hug him! Personally, I would recommend it to all Star Wars lovers.. No matter what age you're! I don't care if the book rated for 9-12 years old. Most aren't, am I right?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A book about the hard time Obi-wan had as a young boy.
Review: I am 14 years old and this book still kept me on the edge of myseat. Ok, ok, so I read it in about a day, but if this book can keepme and my friends entertained, think of what it could do for someone younger then me!!!
