Rating: Summary: I Love This Book Review: This book has everything on any ship you can think of. It gives drawings, a diagram pointing out parts of the ship, it gives a story about the ship, it's owner, and how it became that persons ship. A must have for Star Wars fans.
Rating: Summary: Great reference, but needs updatinng Review: This book is an EXCELLENT reference to the transportation of the Star Wars Universe, and well worth the cost, especially when compared with the less-detailed Technical Journal. However, many of the newer ships from the Star Wars video games had not made it into this guide, such as the Missile Gunboat from XvT, as well as many of the plain bulk freighters. I assume this was done either to conserve space, or because they were planned AFTER the release of this guide, or a combination of both, but it does make this "essential" guide incomplete.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Available for Technical Information Review: This is a very detailed book with a lot of good information. Unfortunately, the one bad thing is the ammount of information each ship receives (only one page). Other than that, this is a must for any TRUE STAR WARS FAN! (Especially because it only costs $18, compared to the Technical Journal's $35!
Rating: Summary: What's a Lambda-class Shuttle? Who flies the IG-2000? Review: Do you know? An excellent Star Wars Vehicles and Vessels Guide! It has the official name, an excellent drawing, and the blueprint of each vehicle or vessel
Rating: Summary: Great Information!! Review: This book has loads of information from a diagram of an AT-AT walker to the plans for the early Death Star prototype which was later activated. Even the TIE Advanced X1 (Darth Vader's FIRST fighter). Just a great resource
Rating: Summary: One of the best in the series Review: My first dabbling in the "Essential Guide" series was the Guide to Droids. After that I was thirsty for more and so I decided to buy the Guide to Verhicles and Vessels. I certainly didn't reget it. I really liked this Guide, although I thought the Guide to Droids was still even a little better. The book contains a nice selection of craft from both the films and the novels that ranges from several of the various Imperial Doomsday devices to ore haulers and freighters. and gives some interesting insights on these verhicles. My only point of critism to this book is that Darth Vader's Super Star Destroyer was described as being much smaller than it seemed to be in the movies. This is just nitpicking though, an actually the only vague hint at critism I have towards this book. The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels certainly is one of the best of the Star Wars guides and certainly worth the money if you like this series. Weel done Mr. smith!
Rating: Summary: A fun book, but not essential. Review: I am a huge fan of star wars, and so I decided to read some of the novels. I hated how there were so many ships that I didn't recognize. This book helped alot in visualizing the ships. It's also great if you're obsessed with details like I am. Beyond that though, I don't know if it's essential, as it focuses more on the novels thn the movies. Even then it's still lacking several ships from the novels, so all in all it's fun, but not essential for someone who is just a casual fan.
Rating: Summary: Great help Review: One of the things I hated about reading the older Star Wars books is the fact that there were so many new spaceships mentioned, but I had no idea what they looked like. This guide has sketches of all the ships it describes. Note: this book only contains ships mentioned in novels written before the release of Episode I and the storm of new books that followed.
Rating: Summary: I love This book! Although it's missing a few ships. Review: Like the previous reviewer said, this book is missing a few ships includeing the K-wing, and T-wing starfighters. Although I can easily forgive the author for this because this book was published nearly 2 years before the K-wing was introduced in the Star Wars universe. :) I bought this book back when it was first published in 1996 and to this day I still love to read it over and enjoy facts about some of my favorite ships! :) I hope the author will come out with an updated version sometime, but even if he doesn't this is still a nice reference tool to have. A must-have for a Star Wars junkie!
