Rating: Summary: This is definetly the most captivating and thrilling series. Review: When I first saw the book....CURSE OF THE MISTWRAITH, I was in for the full ride. Wurts makes you wonder with her opening...."How bad can this Arithon guy be?" Then she takes your heart on a power trip with admiration, and then love of the misjudged Arithon. Lysaer....you could really learn to hate a guy like him. Sometimes I find myself yelling at him, and consoling Arithon. Even the devious Dakar has won my true affection and admiration. Definetly the very best series I will ever read. My one question,"How fast can you get the GRAND CONSPIRACY, to my door!!"
Rating: Summary: Strong continuation of events on the world of Athera Review: While this book is the 3rd in the Wars of Light and Shadow, and First in the Alliance of the Light, I look at it as a bridge between the two series. The first section provides some catch up history for those who have not read the entire series without saying this is what transpired in the past. Janny provides ongoing events with some references to the past. If you read this book as your first in this series, this part may be a little difficult to get beyond, but taken in faith, you can move into the text as it will propel you forward into new depths. We see skirmishes between the two factions as Lysaer is intent on trapping Arithon and saving the world from his influences for once and for all. The story heats up as the major magical influences begin to get involved and play a critical part in the events that transpire. Throughout the book, the alliances are set and you begin to see how they work to bring about their own goals - that of domination and that of survival. But with all the twists and plots that Janny continues to spin, there is potential for these alliances to change as they have throughout the series. Do not expect this to be a light easy read, because there is so much depth to it, you can read it several times and pick up something new each time. I started the series with this book, but found an interest to go back and read the others. Once I read the others, I reread this book because things fell together much cleaner. I highly recommend this series to all who love detail and depth.
