Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: nice edition to the saga Review: I've noticed that this book seems to have recieved a lot of 8's in ratings. That's because even though this book is very good, it is lacking in a few areas. I must agree with the reader below that there are more interesting things that could have been done with Callista than just have her fade away. I felt cheated (unless they have something spectacular for her in a future novel and I don't believe Luke and Callista should get together, just something that could help the character of Skywalker grow). It was a nice touch to see Leia struggle with her heritage. The droids adventure was good. The two areas where this booked lacked was in Han, Lando, and Chewie part of the story. I felt it was weak, and the only reason it was there was to include these characters in the novel. The other weak area was the ending, the 'mysterious life-form.' It was weak. As was the character of Dzym. And the Hutt could have been further developed, it was interesting to see a Hutt with Jedi skills. And what about Taselda? Did she have a point to the story, because her character certainly wasn't developed. I think Hambly should have spent a little more time and a few more pages to develope this story the way it should have been. But overall, I'd say this is a good novel, and an excellent addition to the saga.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Not as good. Review: This story was good, but not as good as her first book, in my opinion. This story was shorter, and didn't keep you on your toes. Defently not a page turner, but the plot was good. If the author could of added some more action with the main characters, it would of been more interesting.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good, and written with a stylful prose, but somewhat boring. Review: Planet of Twilight has a good plot, is interesting, and a treat to stay with, but was slow paced, and at times, boring. It's written with a definite prose; a prose I seem to recall from the time I read Children of the Jedi, which was only marginally better. Though good, this ranks amongst the lesser Star Wars novels which include the two above mentioned novels and The Black Fleet Crisis, written by Michael P. Kube-McDowell
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Hambly has done it again Review: Hambly has made yet another exciting story plot. It was difficult to get into, but once I did, it was impossible for me to stop reading. Hambly could have come up with a better way to fit Han and the droids in the plot, though. And she seems to be dragging out this relationship between Luke and Callista. Either continue the relationship or stop it. There's no need to have it drag out for ten years. (Which it has, if anyone has read the Young Jedi Knights series. Luke's still single.) However, Leia had an excellent part in the story. It's tempting to give away the entire plot when it comes to her. Luke spent most of his time searching for Callista, but imminently had a few adventures along the way.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The ending is worth struggling through the beginning Review: Although I found the beginning of the book to be very tedious, I am glad that I continued to read on. The ending had several surprises. I especially enjoyed the fact that this book portrayed Luke as not only a "Jedi Master" but also as a real person. I think that Han's part was not clearly defined and poorly written, but on the whole, the storyline was very good.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: This was one of the worst Review: Barbara should have quit at "Children of the Jedi" which was just as bad! I gave it a try but I just didn't like it! Oh and to top it all off Callista was in it, she already ruined two other books but they keep bringing her back! Give it up!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Creative and refreshing. . . Review: I have to give Barbara Hambly credit. 'Planet of Twilight' delves into uncharted territory in the Star Wars universe. She tackles Leia's fear of her father's legacy and her struggle to become a Jedi along with Luke's inner turmoil over his love for Callista. So many other Star Wars novels give you the same old action/adventure plot line that many times I want to put the book down. (If I read one more Star Wars book about a "superweapon" or how some threat tries to capture Leia's children, I'm going to scream).
Hambly explores new ground in the Star Wars universe. She creates the frightening creatures called Drochs and the mysterious Dzym. Granted I didn't believe Dzym could take over the galaxy for a minute, but I did believe Leia and Luke were in grave danger. Hambly's best sections are the Luke and Leia parts. She seems unsure as to how to make Han, Lando, R2D2, and C3PO fit into her novel. Yet I overlooked this because I was thrilled to read an atypical Star Wars book. When your looking for a book to read, treat yourself on this one. You'll be pleasantly surprised
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An ecellent sequel to Children of the Jedi and Dark Saber. Review: I like all of te Star Wars books but I paticulary like thisgroup. It gives us more of an insight to Luke and his Personalitybeyond the Jedi Master.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Worth the wait Review: While I found this book difficult to get into, once the plotbegan to thicken, I found it a real page-turner. I especially enjoyedthe surprise ending (don't ask for clues! I'm not giving any!). Fans of Callista will enjoy finding her here; but don't expect any fireworks between her and Luke in this episode. A good read! Thanks, Ms. Hambly! p.s. Anyone enjoying her writing style really ought to check out ISHMAEL, the best Star Trek novel I've ever read (especially if you enjoy historical fiction as well as sci-fi.....).
