Summary: essential reading for Star Wars fans of all ages
Review: I'm 25, and although these books are written for younger readers, they are superior to many of the other Star Wars books with their psychological focus. Watson carefully traces Obi-Wan's and Anakin's development together, and captures the essence of the Jedi spirit. Approving this series and the Jedi Apprentice one was a great move by Lucas. I recommend that every serious Star Wars fan read each of these short books, as they flesh out key characters tremendously well.

Unfortunately, saber color and hilt design is a major problem on the covers of these books. _The Way of the Apprentice_ has Anakin holding a blue lightsaber (which is right), but the hilt is from Qui-Gon's GREEN saber. In the background, the girl on the left is holding Obi-Wan's blue saber. Careless illustration.

Verdict: ignore the lightsabers on the covers, but revel in the excellent character development.

Summary: Almost As Good As JEDI APPRENTICE
Review: Jedi Quest #1: The Way of the Apprentice by Jude Watson was good. Not quite great, but still good.
The characters and storyline are good, but nothing very exiting- and almost the whole book is about Anakin, who is extremely annoying to me(and I know I'm not alone).
You just don't get the interaction and understanding between Anakin and Obi-Wan in this book that you did with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon in Jedi Apprentice.
A noble attempt, Jude, but Jedi Apprentice is where it's at for you.

Summary: A Second Apprentice
Review: Jude Watson begins her second series after completing, "The Young Apprentice", story arc that ran 18 installments plus two special editions. This has to make her the most prolific contributor to the Star Wars Saga. The new, "Jedi Quest" series begins with, "The Way Of The Apprentice", and places Obi-Wan in the role once held by the late Qui-Gon, and young Anakin is the learner this time around.

Anakin is placed in the position of being the most gifted apprentice any Jedi can ever recall. He cannot be separated from his peers, and so must deal with other apprentices as they all train while his gifts outstrip them all. The one aspect he lacks is patience and his tendency to interpret orders instead of following them also causes him trouble.

Four Jedi teams are sent to solve what is believed to be an environmental accident. The apprentices are separated from the masters, and its time to see if Anakin can work and play well with others. His is particularly frustrated as one other learner is Ferus, an apprentice that is well liked, skilled, and one who follows every rule, and always provides the masters with the correct answers and not complaints.

What follows is Anakin almost always butting heads with Ferus, and by story's end the two are far from allies even as they effect a very successful end to a mission. Anakin is independent, and the Jedi are trained to play as a team.

A good start to a new series.

Summary: The is one of my favorites!
Review: Just as the title says, I love anything (well almost) that has to do with Star Wars. In other words, I`m an unofficial Star Wars fan. I take a tiny dislike in some good parts. But the book is so good it fills in the bad parts. Like for instance, on the part where Anakin meets the female bounty hunter, it was kinda dull. But I was also interested in it. I loved the part with the male bounty hunter though. The trail of the jedi could be checked out before book #1 in the series.

Summary: Action Packed Jedi
Review: Star Wars Jedi Quest: The Way Of The Apprentice is an action and adventure book. It has light saber battles, droid killing and ships blowing up.
This book is about a boy named Anikan. He is a padawan. His master is Obi-Wan Kanobi (a jedi knight). He and three other jedi teams need to go to another planet because there is a toxic cloud killing all the creatures on this planet. Anikan needs to work with his rival to save the planet.
If you like adventures with action, this is the book for you.

Summary: TRAIL is Book 2 and begins the continuing story.
Review: This a review for Trail of the Jedi, TOTJ. Trail is the 2nd book in the Jedi Quest series and I am reviewing both the Unabridged audio casette and the paperback.

In TOTJ Obi-Wan feels that he are Anakin are not as close as they should be. So he plans a 10 day exercise on a very sparsely inhabited planet where he and Anakin must work together in a game of hind and go seek with an experienced Jedi Master.

Of course things start to go wrong right away in the hunt. Also, Anakin and Obi-Wan do not understand each other. In the end they both learn a little something about each other, but they also learn that someone want to kill them. The hunt is resolved in this book, but the Identity of the killer is not and will be continued in future books of this series.
The audio book is extremely well done by veteran SW reader Davis. The story here is defineately simplified for younger readers, but for completists like me, Watson dioes a nice job exploring the interactions between Ben and the future Vader.
In the first book Anakin learns to cooperate with a fellow Padawan Ferus (Padawan of Siri Tachi) who is well liked by his fellow Padawans and also a good leader. The continuing curiosity in any Prequel book is how Anakin and Obi-Wan loss each other such that Anakin becomes Darth Vader
Jude Watson does advance the character study of Anakin Skywalker.

This is a book written for 9 to 12 year olds, but I enjoyed Jude Watson handling of Anakin. I am pleased that the decision was made to put this book on unabridged Audio cassettes. I have almost every Star Wars audio book ever made up to NJO Star by Star. Davis is an experienced SW reader and does a great job.

Summary: Ooh
Review: This book has an excellent story line. Nicely written! It's about the apprentice and master(Anakin and Obi-Wan) The Jedi council gives them a mission as well as other teams of Padawans and apprentices on a mission. Read to find out the mission and the rest of the story!
PS: Oh don't think this book is childish. It has rich vocabulary.

Summary: Jedi Quest #1:The Way Of The Apprentice
Review: This book is a spectacular work of art.The depth at which Watson explores and explains the characters makes you feel as if you really know them. She goes along with the whole Jedi teachings, and the Masters and Padawans have just the right serene Jedi attitudes. There is a perfect dose of humor and plenty of suspence. The characters are well formed, and the small signs of Anakin's eventual destiny are scattered throughout. The way she explains the Jedi's actions and lives is very well done, and she shares the thoughts not only going through Anakin's mind, but through the Obi-Wans as well,so you realize that he often doubtfull of his own ability to be the master.I all in all loved this book, and can't wait to read the others.

Summary: Way to Predectable
Review: This book was a good read if not way to predectable. It seems Jude is stuck with no new stories. The last of the Jedi Apprentice series was the same way. It seems they get sent to some planet in trouble and the problems are all basically the same. You can also spot the bad guys miles away. My suggestion is Jude needs to take a break. Get some new ideas and different plots. Still it was not to bad.
