Rating: Summary: Found in Istanbul Review: What a find... fascinating book I've reread it twice just to follow historical references. Highly recommended for us mathmatical mystery lovers.
Rating: Summary: One of the most fun books I've ever read Review: Really surprise ending, and so different from other stuff I've been lead to. Expected a lot from her second book and didn't get it. Looking forward to Magic Circle. She gets you to really identify with all characters.
Rating: Summary: satisfying Review: this book, while not destined to be among the great classics of all time, is definitely a classic in its own genre. i found this book at a book sale and was intrigued by the mention of charlemagne's chess service. i've read it several times over and in each reading, i find something new, some detail i failed to see in previous readings, some nuance or connotation that suddenly comes to light. like hidden treasure, it's always a surprise and a delight!

Rating: Summary: Entertainment that is hard to put down. Review: I have read a lot of reviews for this book, and it is surprising that there were some lower numbers. This book has just about everything that you could want. It has a female "heroine" that is smart, funny- on the sarcastic side, and average- like the rest of us. She finds herself on a journey that encompasses many differend lands and times. The detail and depth of the story is truely what keeps this book a page-turner. Yes, the history is a little skewed, but this is fiction. If I had wanted an accurate historical refernece I wouldn't be in this section! Instead have fun sinking yourself into a story that travels the world in all its mystery!!!
Rating: Summary: I thought that it was an amazing book filled with mystery... Review: I thought that it was an amazing book filled with mystery, adventure, excitment, and entrigue. This was the best book that I have every read.
Rating: Summary: Interesting work, but the ending is a disappointment Review: I am really suprized by the number of 10's and rave reviews that this book has gotten. It is somewhat interesting and plesant to read, but it is certainly not a masterwork by any means. I also found the ending to be a great disappointment there were so many other options avaliable, the choice of the author seems trite and really distroys the integrety of the work. I also caution against looking too closely at the 'history' in this book - I found the contortions a bit hard to take. A very plesant book to read, but nothing like Eco's books.
Rating: Summary: Don't read it fast, you are going to miss it when you finish Review: The Eight is the book that I recommend to anyone that listen to me.I bought it because I heard somebody in a book store talking about how good was this book, he was absolutely right! Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop and when I finished was a really sad moment because I knew that It was going to be very difficult to find something better. Since then I try to make all my friends read The Eight and there has never been a complain.
Rating: Summary: Intertwined simplicity Review: The Eight is amazing in it's simplicity. The two plots are woven with great skill utilizing many layers. Famous figures appear out of nowhere, as do plot twists. If you enjoy historical intrique written with flair, give this one a try.
Rating: Summary: Oh please write a new book soon! Review: This is by far the best book I ever read. I ALWAYS recommend this book. It not only teaches you a little about history but you don't even realize that you are learning while enjoying the amazing plot! The book combines two interwoven plots and keeps you interested in both of them! This is a book that I never wanted to finish. I fell in love with the characters and felt that this book could go on and on and not bore me one bit. I could read it over and over again and still enjoy it. The writing was superb and the plot was original!
