Summary: Best and most recommended book I've read
Review: Historically accurate. Such an interesting reading journey

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Incantevole
Review: I have tried to check out all the historical references looking for holes and mistakes, but I was not able to find any. How comes? Ms.Neville were you telling us a real story? I keep reading the book and this question comes to my mind more often and often...Anyway thank you, this book is a gift for my immagination.

Summary: Stupendous Book!
Review: This is one of those books that you will ponder about YEARS LATER.... A *must* read! Also read, her newest book Magic Circle- Crank out more books Katherine Neville!

Summary: Good but not great
Review: I picked this book up on a colleague's recommendation. It is one of the few books written by a woman in recent times that I enjoyed. The author's knowledge of history and geography was startling. The author's bio seems to suggest she is the heroine in the book. The story itself was pretty fascinating. The ending was a definite anti-climax. Good for a one-time read. I will definitely pick up more books by this author though, she has a lot of things to talk about.

Summary: AN ALMOST GREAT BOOK
Review: I would find it hard to believe that someone thought the story was uninteresting. Neville does a great job at entertaining the reader. In this case, the secret being the mixture of historical figures of the French Revolution with an intriguing story ,which make the pages flip by on their own. The ending is disappointing and certainly does not live up to the promising denouement of the plot. More disturbing however, is the secret formula explaining the lack of the depth of the main character: Catherine Velis = Katherine Neville. This equation is responsible for Neville' s indulgement in a blown up, barely credible protagonist.

Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN!!!
Review: Oh my gosh! All I can say is that this was the BEST book I have ever read! I love Katherine NeVille but none of her other books compare to "The Eight". I must admit that the book didn't sound that interesting, but was I ever wrong! I don't even like chess (the whole plot of this story) but I am a real history buff. She weaves her stories in the most interesting ways! I can't comprehend how she gets everything to fit together so well. There is almost no holes to her story. Even though this is a 600+ page book, I wished it never would have ended. I have read it like five times and I still am not tired of it and I catch new things each time. You MUST give this book a try!

Summary: THE BEST BOOK
Review: After reading THE EIGHT for the fourth time, I am continually amazed at the mind-numbing effect it has on me. Catherine Velis is a wonderful heroine, but it is our Katherine that is a hero to anyone who loves to read quality fiction.

Summary: The best book I think I have read so far.
Review: I usually have a hard time trying to find a book that really grabs me. When I was shopping with a friend of mine, she pointed this book out to me. When she described the basis of the story, it really interested me, especially since I like chess so much. When I got home that day, I started reading it, and to my surprise it really grabbed me from the beginning. I didn't realize until later how long it was. My dad wasn't sure if I would reach the end, but I did in three weeks or less. The story was just so well put together; all I could think was "How is he going to bring these two different times (the 1790s and 1970s) and stories together in the end?" Katherine Neville did a wonderful job at piecing the book together in such a way so as not to give the ending away and she also really gave a good account of history. As I said before, this was probably the best book I have read in my life so far.

Summary: An exciting adventure
Review: I happened upon The Eight in the most interesting way. I was backpacking across Europe and on route to Greece, I met a nice young man reading The Eight. He passed his copy to me as soon as he was through with it. I was quite surpirsed at how much I enjoyed this book. I read it through the rest of my journies. It is full of excitement, passion and intrigue. It is a very entertaining book, and am very greatful to the kind architect student who passed it on to me.
