Rating: Summary: What a great way to learn the past of the smuggler Han Solo! Review: Gee...where do i start? Can i just say that this was a great book. In fact all three of them in this series were excellent! Now I never used to read, until I found my joy in Star Wars....why end with the movies? Keep reading, and learn the past and future of all the Star Wars characters. But, this one was GREAT! Also i recommend reading the first in this series "The Paradise Snare", and read the final one after this one..."Rebel Dawn." The whole trilogy of this series is what really brought it together....and Han Solo finally makes it into the Imperial Navy...that's right he was Imperial Scum before a Smuggler...but that was before this one. In this one he works for Jabba, and Jabba's Aunt Jiliac...That is all i can say...to learn more...READ IT!
Rating: Summary: ALMOST AS GREAT AS THE PARADISE SNARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: GREAT BOOK! GREAT BOOK! WONDERFUL BOOK! WONDERFUL BOOK! HOW DOES SHE DO IT? CRIPSON IS A WONDER! THE PARADISE SNARE WAS A LITTLE BETTER BUT I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT IT! I THOUGHT HAN AND BRIA WERE SUPPOSED TO VISIT MUURGH! Anyway it kicked &*%$ anyway, it's strange really, great books in the back of the library! why the heck doesn't anyone do somethin' about it? Hutt gambit was great wonderful and all those words, people please don't read this book unless you've read The Paradise Snare, if you have, sit in a comfy chair cause it's gonna be a long ride!
Rating: Summary: You really get to know Han Solo! Review: After finishing this masterpiece all I can say is, wow! The witty dialogue and crazy situations immediatly remind you of our hero Han Solo. The book flows really well and you will find yourself reading through the night. Terrific!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely fabulous!!! Review: Come on, this was a great book! Action packed! The battle at smuggler's moon was riveting and when the dark lord of the syth made an appearance, well, it was a nice touch. I love Star wars books for their actionf and plot lines: indepth details are for psychology books.
Rating: Summary: Uh, not bad, but not great. Review: This book was okay, but was lacking in too many areas to make it truly great. First of all, what happened to Han at the academy? Why start with when he got kicked out? Also, perhaps it would have been a good idea to have less on Han's numerous flings and the "Gee... I wonder if I love <fill-in-the-blank> because she's not quite like Bria" sentiments from Han. It's certainly better than some of the other SW novels that I've read (such as anything by Kevin Anderson), but it seemed too rushed. Han seemed to jump from one event to another without giving the reader time to actually enjoy his adventures. As a result, Han's escapades ending up feeling rather stale and hollow. What I would REALLY have liked to see is this whole book deal with Han's life as an Imperial Officer. Perhaps he got a close up view of the way the Empire was changing and how Palpatine's influence was dragging down a once respectable Navy. The biggest complaint I have, though, is that horrible dialogue leading up to the space battle. How many pages were devoted to Han and Mako "prepping" the troops by standing at the front of the crowd, cheering them on. It sounded more like a high school pep rally than the strategical briefing before a major battle. Besides, I felt like screaming everytime I heard: "Yay Mako! Woo hoo! Let's get 'em! We'll show them not to mess with us." Once, fine. Twice, it's grating but I can live with it. For three chapters, it gets old REAL fast. What I really, really liked was the development of Han and Jabba's relationship in this book (and in the next one in the series). Well done in that respect.
Rating: Summary: This book is is one of the best Star Wars books of all time Review: If Han Solo is your favorite Star Wars character you must pick up this book. This is the second book in a trilogy of books about Han Solo's past before the events a Star Wars A New Hope. It details how Han got booted out of the Imperial Academy, how Han came to work for Jabba the Hutt, and several other really cool details about Han. It also details the battle for Nar Shaddaa the Smugglers Moon. All in all this book os one of the greatest of all time.
Rating: Summary: a verry on the edge of your seat book!!! Review: I liked the hutt gambit because it was so exiting i couldn't put the book down. i think that every one should read it.
Rating: Summary: GOOD, BUT COULD BE BETTER Review: Of all the HST books, this one is the most boring. I took me 2 weeks to read, and even then I skipped chapters. I think it could have been better, with more Han, Chewie, and smuggle runs than wars.
