Summary: Mag-niffy-cent!
Review: A feline lover's dream! Of course no one noticed the cat, unless Niffy wished to be noticed! Ah the hero here is a daring one, and quite brave for any creature, on four paws or two feet. Yes the fluffy one is the centerpiece and weaves her way through the book showing up at crucial moments to steal the show. McCaffery injects her story with all the essence of the feline, who acts and feels like a real, live breathing cat, a special one of course, but many authors attempt to bring character to an animal but somehow it becomes just a shadow of what one really is, a lack of understanding perhaps, but McCaffery understands the nuances and quirks of feline culture and therefore makes this a delightful read for those that love fantasy and cats. The ending is also perfect justice and while this is just a short little book, that should have been more, it was great while it lasted.

Summary: Nice hour's worth of reading.
Review: Although a quick little read, I enjoyed Ms McCaffrey's usual quirky writing style. This is a good little book to introduce the younger generation to her work. It reminded me of "An Exchange of Gifts" and I will be adding this little gem to my collection

Summary: Great Short Story
Review: Although Anne McCaffrey normally wirtes novels, it is nice to see her returning to the world of short stories. I can say that I have read all of her books with the exception of one or two and this one is a favorite. It is truly an intriguing little story. I recommend it to people who are looking for a quick little book to read on a rainy day.

Summary: A great quickie.
Review: For those readers who've expressed disappointment with more recent publications from Ms. McCaffrey I'd just like to say that the variety she has been able to provide has been refreshing. Readers wanting nothing but the same ol' stories, written just like everything else the author cranks out, strikes much like tunnel vision for literature.

Bookes like this and "Coelura" have been given to us as quick trips. A little bit of escape without packing a suitcase. If all a person eats is pasta, eventually there would be no joy from eating. She provides new meals, a different offering now and then. I found the book utterly delightful and came away with a pleasant feeling. Her other sagas are where I go for the emotional rollercoasters and complete adventure.

I can't say I've ever been disappointed by an Anne McCaffrey penned story, with and without contributions of other authors.

Summary: No One Noticed the Cat
Review: I have to admit, I had my doubts about this book, and they were pretty major. For one, I had never read anything by Anne McCaffrey before, and for another, my exceptionally patronizing (the worst part is she tries to pretend she's not) aunt was the one who recommended it to me. However, I thoroughly enjoyed No One Noticed the Cat. If not worth buying, it at least warrants a few reads after checking it out from the library.

Mangan, the regent of Esphania, dies happy, knowing he has left someone behind who will lead the young Prince Jamas to where he needs to be as a ruler. However, this `someone' is different then most would think: a cat called Niffy. But, in her own subtle way, she is wise. And, as Jamas' life and kingdom are threatened by an ambitious queen and an eager king, Jamas needs all the help he can get.

Though most of the summaries are a little dramatized and the plot is not as adventurous as they promise it to be, this is still a worthwhile book. It's so short it does not really matter that the outcome is obvious, and McCaffrey has a nice, if not a little eccentric, style, at least in this book. All in all, if you're not sure, check it out at the library, but if you like the sounds of it, I'd go ahead and buy it.

Summary: Cute little fantasy story
Review: I love Anne McCaffrey and when I was this book, I thought that the size of it was just so cute. And the story was great. I'm glad that she didn't make it any longer. This was one of those stories that would be absolutely horrible if it was full novel length. And I am glad to see that the world's greatest science fiction writer also does fantasy!

Summary: You can't have mine at any price!!
Review: I reread this book (nicknamed Niffy) about five time a year to remind myself that cats are wonderful people and that good can triumph over evil.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An entertaining, quick read.
Review: I was at first doubtful when I received this as a gift. But took it along to read on a flight and throughly enjoyed the book. McCaffery again shows her versatility of subject matter, writing another great short story.

Summary: Cute novella
Review: It was a cute story, but a short story, not the full length novel I had anticipated. The author demonstrates that she is equally adept at both short stories and novels. Unfortunately there was nothing in the listing to indicate that this was not a novel.

Summary: Short, sweet. and wonderful!
Review: Prince Jamas is left to rule his kingdom without his regent, Mangan. He finds solance in Mangan's cat, Niffy, who is more than just a housecat. Amongst the trails and tribulations of ruling, Jamas realizes that there is more than meets the eye with this cat.
Anne McCaffrey has done a wonderful job! This story is short, but it is soo well told. Within 124 pages we know and feel for Jamas and have such a sense of Niffy. I know all about the Kingdom, the history and neighoboors that I didn't feel lost. This wasn't hurried story, all the details that were needed, were in there. Anne left out all those stupid fillers that most authors use.
A very sweet and fast moving story. I recommend to all of Anne's readers. (Even to those who don't like Anne's stories!)
