Rating: Summary: Will the draconians be able to live in peace? Review: "Draconian Measures" picks up after where "Doom Brigade" leaves off; the story follows the adventures of the First Dragonarmy Engineers lead by Kang. The draconians live in a world where they are pretty much hated by everyone, and the only thing these particular draconians want is a place of their own so they can live in peace. Unfortunately, someone is out to completely destroy all draconians, and it is up to Kang and his men to prevent that. "Draconian Measures" also introduces us to the female draconians whom Kang feels the need to protect at all costs. The females want to experience the world, but they have not been able to do that under the watchful eye of the commander. This book is full of action and sure to please any fan of the Dragonlance world. One thing that any D&D fans should note is that the statistics for the draconians are listed in the back of the book.

Rating: Summary: Highly entertaining work by Dragonlance legends Review: 'Draconian Measures' as u are all no doubt aware, is the sequal to 'The Doom Brigade' and continues the story of the 1st Dragonarmy Draconian Engineering company. After rescuing the female draconian eggs at the end of the Doom Brigade, Kang and company have decided to strike out for Neraka where they hope to find an abandoned city to call home. Along the way however they encounter difficulties, not the least being a goblin horde (see the short story in 'Heroes & Fools) but eventually reach the relative safety of a draconian camp commanded by a old aurak general. Here they encounter treachery, deceit, engineering hurdles to cross and all sorts of military adventures. While all of this is going on the female draconians who they rescued are growing up and are struggling to work out what it means to be female, a draconian and a member of Kangs engineers. Although highly entertaining and full of humour like the other previous novels and short stories, I found 'Draconian measures' not quite as good as the previous stories, as the storyline is a bit more tired and cliched than the other draconian stories by Weis and Perrin. However the story is pretty much rescued by the female draconian characters who bring a fresh comic & dramatic angle to the story (Kang and the boys have absolutely no idea how to deal with the previously unknown female of the species ). All in all a nice, light, well written read that I found a welcome diversion to the tedium of everyday life. Hopefully this is not the last time we see Kang and company
Rating: Summary: Draconian Measures Review Review: Definetly a great book for those who have been reading along w/ kang and his regiment from the doom birgade on, cant wait to see what happens next! Another wonderful novel by Margaret Weis!

Rating: Summary: Don Perrin does a fine job. Review: Draconian Measures (by Don Perrin with Margaret Weis) picks up where Doom Brigade left off. Kang's regiment have successfully hatched the female draconians and are now trying to protect them until they are mature enough to breed. The survival of the draconian race depends on it. This story is full of mystery as the goblins and hobgoblins, once allied with the draconians begin to attack in an orchestrated fashion, much more disciplined than goblins are apt to be. The discovery of another band of draconians gives Kang and his troops hope that there are many more of their kind in the world. Kang encounters a setback when he is forbidden to contact a group of Knights of Takhisis for help against the eminent goblin horde. Something strange is going on in the new camp of Draconians. Can Kang and his men find out what it is before it's too late? One of the most interesting aspects of this book is the introduction of the female draconian. Don and Margaret cover their special powers (slightly different from their male counterparts) and abilities. You can feel the draconians becoming a true race rather than a created species. They seem less evil because of it. They, like all other species, are just out to survive. An added bonus to Dungeons & Dragons players is the new 3rd edition statistics for draconians in the back of the book. If you enjoyed Doom Brigade or any of the other 5th Age Dragonlance books be sure to pick this one up.
Rating: Summary: Draconian Measures Review: Draconian Measures definately lives up to its prequel, "The Doom Brigade". As with all Margaret Weis books, the writing is excellent, filled with great character and plot developement, intrigue, drama, and awesome fight scenes. Draconian Measures (as well as Doom Brigade) provides an actual look on the character and personalities of Draconians, instead of portraying them as brainless, feelingless, lizards like most other DL books. If you haven't already, buy both books; it's worth the money. I hope that Weis and Perrin write a third volume about the Draconians new civilization, to give some finality to the questionable fate of the Draconian race.
Rating: Summary: Great read! Review: Highly recommended. Great story and insight into Kang and his engineers as well as post Chaos war Krynn, and draconian history. A fun book to read. Get it!
