Rating: Summary: Unoriginal Review: God forbid anyone write a bad review! Dragonlance is about the most unoriginal fantasy series I've ever read, and I've read alot. The writing is amatuer and the characters, although diverse, are nothing new. What a joke! You guys are funny. I'll probably be crucified for writing this but Jordan, Alexander, Eddings, Tolkien and Brooks are all better. I was glad when sturm died.
Rating: Summary: A Thriller for those who love stories of fiction! Review: THE BEST in fantasy thrillers, the Dragonlance Chronicles are a must read for anyone who loves a good fiction story. You will feel as though you belong there with the companions as they journey throughout the land, seeking to put an end to the wars and destruction.
Rating: Summary: Biggest reason to read chronicles Review: I'm living in Turkey and interesting fantasy literature for 5 years. In the novels I've read there is no one more interesting than chronicles. I think the best thing which makes this book marvellous is character personalities. Of course every character in every book has his/her own personality, background etc. But in chronicles, Margeret Weis & Tracy Hickman really brought the characters in life. And so I think it is the biggest reason to buy this book.
Rating: Summary: Simply Enthralling Review: The Dragonlance Chronicles were the first series of Fantasy books that I read. Not knowing what to expect, I purchased the first installement on a friends urging . There was no turning back for me in the Fantasy world afterwords. I refused to loan my copies out because I wanted to read them again and again. Reading the Chronicles wasnta chore for the immagination, but it was an expirience that can't be told. Just like each of the chracters have their own personality , you have a piece of theirs also. I read the books numerous times and never failed to tire from it. The DragonLance Chronicles is not a story , but an adventure.
Rating: Summary: Great fantasy trilogy Review: After reading these three fantasy novels, I tried to read the other Dragonlance books. Ugh! Stick to these three, however and you can't go wrong. At least as good as other epic fantasy trilogies: Tolkien, Eddings, etc.
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTLY TREMENDOUS Review: This is an absolutly remarkable series which leads you to believe you are there the whole time. The characters are well developed and at least one of them will take on the same personality as you. A must read for anyone interested in Fantasy books!
Rating: Summary: A book and a book series where the reader already exists. Review: I have started reading the DragonLance Sage back in 1985. That's almost 15 years ago. It presented a fluid narration of the characters any person can relate to. Each character was given life and each character gave life...and death. Tanis is a leader, Raistlin the thinker, Caramon the spartan, Sturm (one half of my personal favourite) the knight, Tas (the other half) the...kender, Fizban (the other half, funny it makes 3 halves) the wise and the rest. Even the non fantasy reader gets hooked because of how the characters mirror the readers personality. And Raistlin said "Shirak!" and there was light.
Rating: Summary: Better than Tolkien... Review: Well what can I say? I read the Chronicles about three years ago now and I have been hooked on DragonLance ever since - I own a collection of some 45 DL novels now and I plan to buy many more yet because they are so great! The authors write intriguing and immersive storylines with intricate subplots and dynamic characters! Definitely worth the time to read, no matter what age you are.
Rating: Summary: intriguing characters Review: This was my favorite trilogy of books I have ever read. You really grow to love the characters. It is a perfect mix of action, drama, and comedy. If you want an enthralling plot, great characters, and a can't put it down quality, definetely read these books!
Rating: Summary: The best books in existence!!!!! Review: Whoever said it was disappointing is completely tasteless and lacking something in the head!!! These are the best books ever written!!! Tas is absolutely the koolest little person imaginable...he just kicks my butt :)
