Summary: Great Book!
Review: This book was great! Lots of action, a great cast, and a solid story. The references to Exar Kun as well as Wild Space, Bothans, and other known EU names and places showed Reaves' eye for detail. The characters were very well written, and I actually felt for all the ones who didn't make it out alive. Reaves' work on "Batman" shows as Maul tracks his prey as a kind of anti-Batman set on destruction. The insight into Maul's mind and how it works made you look at his character in a whole new way, and made you understand why he did what he did in TPM.The story was very straight-forward and didn't get bogged down by subplots. This was a pure action/adventure story. The ending was brilliantly pulled off. It was hard to determine which characters were going to survive Maul's rampage, and which would end up as Banth Fodder. Great work!

Summary: AMAZING STAR WARS BOOK BEST I KNOW OF!!!
Review: What an amazing book, though starting off a bit slow its amazing. Whats you get past the first couple of chapters it is impossible to put down, when you get closer to the end its even harder to put down. No joke up to the last page literally the last page there is a plot twist going on that cathces you by surprise. Very well written by far the best star wars book I know of. Must have for any star wars fan.

Summary: Exciting---Fun---But a No-Brainer
Review: This is a great quick read that follows the exploits of Darth Maul just prior to the events in Episode I. If you are looking for a deep meanful plot...look somewhere else but if you want a fast, action packed story full of cool locations, this is the one. I enjoyed this "non-thinker" more than I want to admit and honestly would love to see a series based on Maul. He is just to cool of a character to leave cut in half at the bottom of a pit on Naboo. I'd love to see more stories that take place before his demise. This one is great fun and worth the time to read. One down point is that it is hard to get attached to any new characters since they are obviously going to loose. Neat idea to have the bad guy as the focal point of the story and...WHAT A BAD GUY!!!!

Summary: Great Book you'll love this book.
Review: This was a great book. I didn't read it till welll after it had been released and wished I'd read it earlier. It not only leads up to Episode I, but also later EU books. I had read the Medstar Duology and it is cool to see were I5 got his start. I know what has to happen, but it is still a good read.

Review: Envy author Reaves I do not. As this book is a prequel to the famous prequel Star Wars Episode I, there is not much room for suspense. The character of Darth Maul is visually intimidating, but on the printed page he comes off as flat and one-dimensional, and absent a few contrived obstacles placed in his path, it appears that our protagonists don't have much of a future. However, Reaves does create some interesting new characters, especially the droid I-Five, and it's to his credit that he manages to make the story interesting enough under the circumstances. And although his ending was good, as I was reading it I was hoping he might wind up somewhere else, and the most intriguing mystery from this story might be whether the folks at Lucasfilm influenced the story ending by using a Jedi mind trick on the author. Difficult to see, it is....

Review: It's a very well written novel and one of the best Star Wars books I have read in a long, long time.
Highly recommended for those who enjoy a good sci-fi thriller, and especially for those who like Star Wars
For those who aren't in those categories I would still recommend it simply because it's so well written.

Review: Unlike most Star Wars book, which take time to build up a scenario and come with an all-together well thought out and fun storyline, this one is a crashcourse into suspense and action. The storyline is simple, yet will leave you on the edge of your seat, dying to see what happens next. -->SPOILER ALERT<-- Darth Maul is sent to kill a Neimoidian who has stolen a holocron detailing the Trade Federation's plot to blockade Naboo, and he plans to sell it to an information broker. Maul kills the Neimoidian, though fails to retrieve the holocron, which the broker gets. A young, aspiring Jedi padawan, Darsha Assant gets involved, and both of them are now on the run in Coruscant from Maul, who chases them all throughout the underworld of Coruscant. -->END SPOILER ALERT<-- All in all, it was like watching a fast-paced thriller movie, and even at the end, when you think all has been resolved, IT HAS NOT!! BWAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!
