Summary: A fantastic book!
Review: This book was simply fantastic! I have read and seen a couple different stories about King Arthur and Merlin, and this was really thrilling! The variety was great! And there was so much action, and all sorts of different things happening to Merlin as he grew up. You look at how much wisdom he had, and he used it so well at such a young age! I think Mary Stewart wrote this story beautifully, and it's so enticing, I couldn't put it down! I finished it in a day! This book was simply fantastic! Summary: Exciting, emotional, detailed, page turner
Review: Crystal Cave had a sort of wonder and magic to it. I like how Mary Stewart protrayed Merlin as a clever sophisticated human being. I like the details and it has a lot of emotional parts. there were times when i might've cried. It was exciting though. There were a few places where I didn't know who the people were or what was being described. I had a hard time understanding some parts. I did find that as I read on it was easier to understand. I only recommend this book to people who like to read accelerated or high level reading or anyone who feels they can handle this book. It really isn't easy reading but if you are into that type of genre or into reading i recommend this book.

Summary: This book is the best!
Review: I am a high school student who never really cared for reading books..that is, until I read this one. The story line of this book is spellbinding aswell as heartaching. I couldn't believe that I actually finiched reading this monsrtously thick book in 2 days! For those teenagers out there, who haven't read this book I HIGHLY reccomend this book and the 3 others in the Saga. Just don't be intimidated by the thickness of the books. As soon as you get into the story, you'll be glad that you had that much left to read.

Summary: Excellent, enthralling, believable magic
Review: Merlin's magic is his intellect. He just appears to be a wizard because he can out think everyone. This whole series is amazing!

Summary: Outstanding
Review: This was my first venture into Arthurian legend. I came away completely hooked. Mary Stewart brings young Merlin to life in the same manner as Stephen King proffers horror. Anyone halfway interested in Merlin, Arthur, and/or old England must place this book amongst their favorites!

Summary: Enthralling re-telling of Arthur legend
Review: Mary Stewart's series is an enthralling re-creation of what Arthur and Merlin's life must have been. A wonderful read, that gives more of a feel to the life of the characters than almost any other.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Wonderful view of Merlin
Review: Stewart presents the character of Merlin in a human manner. However, he loses none of the mysticism that makes him such a wonderful character in the Arthurian legend. This book is easy and enjoyable to read.

Summary: wonderful
Review: The crystal cave is a great book, like all others Mary Stewart wrote. I've read several books and stories about King Arthur, his knights of the round table, Merlin, ... The best are the stories of Mary Stewart I think. When compared to the original story (Le mort d' Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory, it's right also. And that I like!!

Summary: A wonderful book!
Review: I first read 'The Crystal Cave' in 8th grade and I have reread it at least once a year ever since. The novel is the best intepretation of Arthurian legend that I have ever encountered. I always thought Merlin was a much more interesting than Arthur or the romance between Guinevere and Lancelot, but he is almost always portrayed as a warlock caricature. Not so in Stewert's 'The Crystal Cave.'I think that those who negatively reviewed 'The Crystal Cave'probably were forced to read it in grade school and were too young to appreciate it. 'The Crystal Cave' is a wonderful blend of fanasty and history and Merlin comes across as a fully realized character.
