Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Oh how the mighty have fallen.. Review: I waited with bated breath for her newest novel to come out. What a let down in all areas. Have the two switched rolls??? Is Ms. Lackey doing the pictures and Mr. Dixon writing the book? That seems like the most likely occurance....the plot was non-existant, and the pictures were lousy. Nothing in the book was up to what I thought of as their normal standards. UGH!!!!!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Disappointing ending to excellent series Review: Lackey began the "Owl" series with a bang and continued this up with the fine sequel OWLSIGHT. Frankly, OWLKNIGHT falls a little flat. I was looking forward to the resolution of the Darien/Keisha relationship but the third "Owl" opens with them in bed together already! Further, I felt that Keisha's insecurities were no longer real, given her relationship with Darian, and that the self-doubts rose less out of character development and more out of plot necessity. Otherwise, I, for one, was tired of the Northerners but the plot and adventurers were well handled. Finally, the Shandi/Steelmind combo was intriguing - but it came out of left field! I wondered how that would really work out - a working Herald (not the heir) and a non-Mage Hawkbrother! Interesting! Mostly, this volume tied up loose ends and explored the northern lands as WHITE GRYPHON explored the south. We also get hit on the head with the value of diversity...again. Albeit, I agree heartily with the sentiment but I'm getting a bit bored with the preaching air.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Absolutely Great! Review: An excellent ending to the trilogy. Owlknight neatly ties up loose ends and includes characters and references from both of the preceding books. The story is every bit as good as I had hoped; for the most part it's exciting and I could barely stand to put the book down. (My copy was read by three people in three days.) The ending, while not completely satisfying by my standards, is certainly very mature, which is nice to see in a fantasty novel. My only real complaint about Owlknight is that it's over much too quickly!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great Enertainment Review: Once again ML has provided us with a enthralling story in Darian's quest. It is written in her usual (occasionally preachy) style which I personally find entertaining. I didn't give her 5 stars for 2 reasons. 1) Larry really outdid himself with the artwork for this one, but they printed them in teensy little windows. Which made me a bit grouchy as I want to see full size versions. 2) She had some weak moments in the story (IMO) mostly due to the fact that she didn't or barely established character traits that led to certain situations. Misty, Darlin, if your hearin me, you need to invest more time in character developement like you did in the earlier series'. These action books are great entertainment, but not why I fell in love with your work.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A masterpiece of magic. It starts fast and ends with a bang. Review: Owlknight, yet another masterpiece filled with magic, it's story opening the window to Lackey's world a little wider. I throughly enjoyed the book and felt the book was better than Owlflight and Owlsight, the insights into her complex magic system making this one of the best for me, in many ways. I felt it reminded me both of Winds of Fury and Oathbreakers for certain elements in each. It was richly detailed and yet never lagged when the action happened. Overall the book was one of my favorites by any Author and restored my faith in writers after several other reading forrays went awry and sent me questing for magazines.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Well worth the wait! Review: I've been counting down the months since I discovered the release date, and I went out and bought the book in hardback as soon as possible. While we did end up with barbarians again, this book was very good. I enjoyed just as much as I enjoyed Owlsight (my personal favorite). This book ties up a lot of loose ends in the other two Owl books. The only thing I wish had been in there had been more mentions and/or appearances of people in the rest of the Valemar world.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: A solid conclusion. Review: I felt this book tied up a lot of loose ends but I also felt that some parts didn't add up or were just added in to make the story run. I enjoyed the book but it did leave me asking questions.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: No full page artwork! Review: With this book, many loose ends are tied neatly. I felt that it could have been better, it wasn't as good as some of her older books. And for those of you who didn't want any more barbarians...tough luck.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Hurry Up Review: I can't wait until this book comes out even though I still have a few months to go. I thought the first book was great, but then they came out with the second.- which stunk. the only reason I kept it around is because it was autographed. anyway I think that OWLKNIGHT is going to be great. Keep up the great work team
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Krisitna K. - A great fantasy book to read! Review: I think that Misty wanted to write a tetralogy, but her editors or publishers insisted on a trilogy. Darien completing his magical training and his quest for his parents could each have been the subject for a separate volume. As it is, she tries to squeeze both stories into one book, and neither is told as well as it should have been.
