Summary: The Wump World
Review: Another one of my childhood favorites. How Fletcher was Hatched is my other. My son loves it as well. I highly recommend this to anyone who has kids and even for those who don't. I will be reading this to my sons kindergarten class. It's a wonderful environmental message in an entertaining package.

Summary: I can't believe I found this!
Review: As I have watched the world become paved over, I have been reminded of a book I loved as a child and the message it offered. It's been at least twenty years since I last saw this book, but I've never forgotten that message. I would like to thank amazon.com for allowing me to pass the message on. I'm going to buy five copies (for now) to give out at Christmas.

Summary: A teenager reviews The Wump World
Review: I am 16 and I read the book Wump World by Bill Peet for the first time yesterday at my friend's house. As someone who is much older than the audience this book is meant for, let me just say I still found the book to be moving and amazing. It is a great read for all ages and i highly reccomend it. I think the book has a message that kids should grow up knowing. I definitely think you should pick up this book. (and stop the pollutants)

Summary: Political Correctness run wild
Review: I came across this book yesterday and it fits it perfectly with out "Divesity of Living Things" unit in Gr 6 science., As I read it to my class, all were engaged and a great discussion was had afterwards. We talked abotu who the 'wumps' are in today's world. and who are the Pollutians? In the end, we all realized that there is hope left for the planter but it will "never be the same".

An amazing present day/ futuristic at the same time story!

Summary: I have been searching for this book for twenty-five years
Review: I have been haunted by the memory of a favourite book that I used to make my mother read to me over and over again when I was around three years old. The images were etched so clearly on my mind that when twenty five years later I found the book I was amazed at how much I'd remembered of the story and the pictures. Don't think that your children won't understand the message - I certainly did!

Summary: An entertainng story with a lesson that applys to real life.
Review: I have four sons, from 2 - 9yrs old, who love this book. They've learned about what happens when an environment isn't cared for and how all living things can be effected. They root for the Wumps every time! We always enjoy Bill Peet's illustrations.

Summary: A Book Ahead of It's Time
Review: I have strong memories of this book from when I was a child. It had a profound imapct on me and I truly think it has attributed to my environmental/earth awareness. It is a powerful book for children as it conveys the importance of preserving the earth and taking other creatures in to consideration. I searched for this book for a long time until I found it recently at a garage sale. Maybe it just came back into print? Highly recommended for all ages!

Summary: A Grump About The Wumps
Review: I hold Bill Peet in the highest regards and have nothing but praise for his many-splendored works, however, I must say this book is one of his most forgettable. The overriding environmental message completely upstages any of the supporting cast, which feel suspiciously contrived to me, as if they were thrown together purely to fascilitate the less-than-subtle message of the story. If you're on the fench between getting this book or another, I'd recommend taking a pass on The Wump World.

Summary: A good book while teaching about pollution
Review: I liked this book very much. It was quite educational. It teaches you what pollution can do to something. Pollution can ruin your habitat. It can also ruin your lifestyle. This book was a good book. Aside from teaching about pollution, it was also very interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good book to read. Again, I thought it was a great book, and you may too. That is why you should read it!
