Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: not the best in the trilogy Review: the book pretty much just sucked.the first two books were pretty good though.it was ok when i started raeding it,but the plot just got worse and worse.probably one of stupidest things about it was the battle for ylesia,i mean it was so unorganized.and what's up this ##!%!!! about han solo and sala zend.avoid this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Book! Review: Sorry I'm lacking anything more enthusiastic to say about this book. I love this book, except the ending. Bria was totally different. She shouldn't have turned like she did. It put a sour ending on a book that was otherwise one of the greatest books I ever read. It's still a must read, however!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: True Star Wars Review: If you are a Han Solo fan you should read this book.It tells what happened just before A NEW HOPE.It tells why Lando betrayed Han on Bespin. The ending is a bit unpredictable. It also links with Brain Dailey's thrilogy.A definatly good read.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Hmm... Review: A.C. Crispin is an obviously talented author. It was a spell-binding, interesting book. It lacked a little in accuracy, though. Besides that, I would say that the Han Solo Trilogy was one of the best SW series.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Not the best in the series but nowhere near the worst either Review: This book was a good link to the trilogy and had a few great moments where you had to laugh. The inclusion of the sphere novels was good to see, but the droid's name is *Zollux*, not *Bollux*, I know, I have the originals. The novel is really well pieced together and flows throughout. There are a number of moments where you just can't believe that these things happened together though, like on the fastest kessel run. The character of Bria was a good idea from the start and I loved how she was involved all the way through. If you want to read one of the series, this is one that stands out, especially if you're a fan of Han - you won't regret it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Sets up the trilogy well. Review: It has a great plot, and sets up the movie trilogy well. It wouldn't make a great movie, but it has a feeling of suspense. Unlike the other Star Wars novels, there is no specific "enemy", besides any authority in the area, pirates, and bounty hunters. Therefore you do not know what is going to happen and what the other side is going to do. This makes it more suspenseful, and it describes the pre-Alliance days of Han, Lando, Chewie and even Boba Fett. It also does a good job of eliminating all of the new characters, except Xaverri, Salla and Durga (who appear in later novels), that were created for the purpose of the trilogy. Bria was shot. Mako was perilized. Jiliac was killed by Durga. This makes it possible to not interfer with the future storyline. I did not like the gap in the middle, however. I think it was there because the other Han Solo Trilogy takes places then, but I have not read them and that is why I don't know.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Kessel Run a joke! Review: Crispin has a good ear for dialogue, and she seems to know Han pretty well. It's nice to see on this forum so many people who love Han as much as I do. He was always my favorite character in the Trilogy (Luke tended to strike me a bit like Kibbick.) Crispin also explains, in easy-to-understand terms, why Han would *NEVER* *MARRY* *LEIA* (one of my pet peeves about the later novels.) There are a few things in this trilogy I just can't believe, though. I can't accept that Han's childhood was a word by word copy of "Oliver Twist." I can't imagine Han as a spandex-clad magician's assistant. I can't accept that these are all the same: the 12 parsec Kessel Run (I've got my doubts that this one even *existed*) ,the Run with the kids on board ,the time Han dumped Jabba's spice ,the last Run before the Trilogy (about 5 minutes before, according to Crispin) 'Course, it could be that Crispin doesn't believe it either, but is just using this as a way to tell all these Kessel Run stories without sounding repetitive. My last gripe is that Han got the Falcon too late, for Lucas' sake! He seemed WAY too attatched to it in the movies to have only had it for a few years! Also I was hoping to see more of it... the Falcon was just too cool in the movies to be almost totally left out like this! Speaking of things being left out, Han seems to be conspicuously absent in Rebel Dawn... sure, those books have already been written, but Crispin, there's more to writing a good story than saying "see Han Solo's Revenge" or what-not. As for Bria... she started out as a good person but evolved into a double-crossing, amoral person who I wasn't all *that* bummed out to see die. It also explains why Han didn't want to get into the Rebellion. Oh, and about that final attack on Ylesia... why, why, WHY did Crispin have to take Han and Lando absolutely literally in ESB?! It was obvious to me that Lando's "after what you pulled" was either a joke or referred to something small, that Lando could just laugh off. By the end of Rebel Dawn Lando sounds like he could kill Han... and a year or so later he hardly cares about it?! But things like this aside, the Han Solo Trilogy is still way above other SW books. I'll always remember what Han thought when he first laid eyes on the Falcon... (now if only we could have SEEN some of that fulfilled! Han's adventures with the Falcon shoulda been the main point of the whole book trilogy! But I digress...) Anyway, it's worth reading. Just don't take it literally, and feel free to imagine what happened in between times. For the Han Fans Report, I'm Sytel Ironside.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This Awsome book would not let me put it down!!! Review: I love this book! It has everything, a good strong interesting plot that keeps you wondering and guessing. It also has action, lies and trouble galore. There are scoundrels, cheaters and thieves all intertwined into the twisted and unpredictable plot. And one of the best parts about this book is the fact that the good guys do not always win! In fact that is one of the major reosons I like star wars novels!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fantastic conclusion to a great series Review: This book keeps you interested all the way through. I kept on going back to it to read "just one more chapter" when I had other things to do. In this book, we find out how Han gets his hands on the Millennium Falcon - and we also find out the reason why Lando is so annoyed at Han in the Empire Strikes Back! ("That was a long time ago, I'm sure he's forgotten about that!"). Crispin is able to fill this book with even more fun action than the others (if that's possible). She can write extremely well, describing characters and situation with perfect fluidity and finnese, keeping the intriguing plot moving all the time. There are no long, dull and drawn out conversations in this book, as other Star Wars writers often do (Zahn, Jeter, Hambly). No, Crispin's prose is much more like Kevin J. Anderson's (who is the undisputed king of Star Wars novels). The scenes with Boba Fett are really cool - Crispin gets his character down in a few short pages, while K. W. Jeter can't even do it in a complete novel. This and the Jedi Academy trilogy are by far the best Star Wars series ever!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent!! An Amazing Ending To A Spectacular Trilogy Review: This book superbly ended the greatest trilogy since the Jedi Academy. The tale of Han Solo and his escapades as a young boy is a great basis. Tie into it the Han Solo Trilogy by Dell, and end it at the exact point where Episode IV begins, and you get a excellent novel. My heartiest congrats and thanks to A.C. Crispin for writing it.
