Rating: Summary: X-Wing Series Review: Not only to I want to compliment on this book but I would like to say something about the whole X-Wing series. I think this series is one of the best series in the whole Star Wars Saga. Anyone who gives any of the books in this series is an idiot. I would reccomend any of the books to any Star Wars fan.
Rating: Summary: Best X-Wing Book Yet! Review: Wraith Squadron must infiltrate the Warlord Zsinj's forces by acting as a fake pirate group called the Hawkbats. Their mission is to plant a 'beacon' that will transmit the location of Zjinj's Super Star Destroyer to the Mon Calamari Cruiser Mon Remonda so it and the rest of a NR Anti-Zsinj task force commanded by Han Solo can ambush Zsinj. Things start to look bad when Wraith Squadron uncover a plot to steal a second Super Star Destroyer from the ship yards at Kuat. To keep Zsinj from finding the Hawkbats true identity the Wraiths must help Zsinj steal the new SS Destroyer. Other books with Zsinj in them: Solo Command X-Wing No. 7, Aaron Allston. The Courtship of Princess Leia, Dave Wolverton.
Rating: Summary: This book was the best of Allston's wraith squad books Review: This book was the best of the Wraith Squadron books so far. I haven't read Starfighters of Adumar nor do i really want to read it.... but Iron Fist was one of the Best.... WEDGE RULES!
Rating: Summary: Wriath Squadron Trilogy (Wraith Squadron/Iron Fist/Solo Cmd) Review: Star Wars books sometimes suffer from life- and galaxy-shattering plots, to the point the they are often depressing, unbelievable, and sometimes just stupid. The Wraith Trilogy (Rogue Squadron: Wraith Squadron/Iron Fist/Solo Command) is almost the antithesis, injected with humor and life, even though the characters are self-professed screw-ups about to be washed out of piloting. Instead of being a lot about piloting and aerial dogfights, this unit is made up of commandos who are also great pilots. The characters are mainly new and untried, and desperate to impress their commander, Wedge Antilles, hero of the New Republic, who creates this unit to meet a real need. The Wraiths learn to trust each other, cheer together when they succeed and cry real tears when missions don't go according to their plan, and they lose friends and comrades. Though these stories were obviously conceived to dove-tail into "The Courtship of Princess Leia," they are great stories, with many funny lines and situations. Its not all comedy -- the unit helps one member through manic depression and career-ending insanity, another is a spy who ends up wanting to be just an honest pilot, another is a former slave who is forced to murder a squadron mate, yet another realizes that he is the killer of the father of one of his pilots, another seeks to contact a traitor to learn about his sister, etc. Heady and heavy stuff! Since none of these are main or film characters, there is no fear of contradicting continuity for the characters of this series. I became a Star Wars novel fan through these lines of books. I admit, I am disappointed with most of the other novels, and always wish that more Wraith Squadron books could be written instead, even as children's books, if need be!
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC! Review: Aaron Allston does it again! Another AWESOME book! It's full of romance, action, suspence, and even tragedy. The kind of book I like to read.
Rating: Summary: hehehe....cool book Review: This book was definetly one of my fav's....I loved all the humor. But he killed Phanan!!! That was just mean....but the new charaters rocked :)
Rating: Summary: GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!!!! Review: For the record, the only reason I'm writing a review (I never bec. I'm way too lazy) is bec. I think it truely unfair that this excellent book should dare to receive less than 5/5 complete stars. Star wars books tend to ramble on concerning politics and battles but I read them over and over again nonetheless. Aaron Allston changes that for the better. He keeps the good parts of the star wars world but injects in large doses of humor. Of all star wars books, and of most books in general, I have read (and enjoyed) "iron fist" the most (w/ "wraith squadron" coming in second). However good things do come to an end w/ his latest book, "starfighters of adumar", which really does not belong under the x-wing series and stinks.
Rating: Summary: hee hee, Wraith Squadron rules! Review: Oh man, I love this book! Aaron even makes Zsinj into a comic! What was running through your mind when you made up these characters and jokes? I mean, New Oldtown? I laughed for half an hour over that one! Oh, I just cried when Phanan died! I didn't like him as much as Face, but, hey, I cry when anyone dies (with the exception of Emperor Palpatine and a few other totally awesome villains) This book rules supreme, and I'd give it a six out of five if I could.
Rating: Summary: GETTING ALOT BETTER ALLSTON Review: This book is tied with Rogue Squadron but not as good as theBacta War. At first I htought that arron allston might wreck theseries but then i read this one. you really feel bad for face (whos part is alot bigger I'm happy to say) when the incident happened with his best friend. The stunts that wraith squadron pulls off is just unbelieveable. And a interesting semi-new character comes to the book and captures the heart of myn. A GREAT BOOK, A MUST READ.
Rating: Summary: Allston does it again! Review: Man, if you like Wraith Squadron, you'll love this book. The operations they attempt to pull off in this book are just crazy, but you'll love every moment of them. The way Wraith Squadron can improvise through any situation is probably their unique skill. The character of Face is also beefed up a lot, so that's good. Plus, a new female character by the name of Lara Notsil is fun to read about. Read this book!
