Summary: Entechingly great
Review: This is such a good book. I got it on a whim from a bookstore and read it in one shot. since then I've read it probably over 50 times it's so good!

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I have to say I found the characterization sophomoric, the plot arbitrary, and the writing extrememly uneven. I can deal without a plausible plot (come on--it's science fiction), and can suffer through average writing, but I can't hack characters not acting like and saying what they should. I'd be interested in a revision of this book.

Summary: "FORCE"-FUL!!
Review: The story is a great use of handicaps. It answers the question if Luke got hurt by the Emperor. Tyers also showed that Jedi don't need lightsabers to help people(132 yr old woman!). Kathy had great thinking when she thought of taking the Ssi Ruuk(fluties) and adding them to the Empires past. We can only hope that no one uses the Ssi Ruuvi technology.

Summary: Pretty Good Science Fiction
Review: This is about an alien group that places human souls inside battle droids and how the Rebellion and the weakened Empire team to face the menace. A little lacking in the beginning but excellant in the middle to end parts.

Summary: Anything to do with Luke is good but this is amazing
Review: It was nice to see Luke finally fall in love but it was just a pity that he never kept her. It was written in true SW spirit and would be very interested in reading more of her books. MTFBWY.....always.

Summary: It was pretty good. I enjoyed it!
Review: This book was pretty good. It wasn't as action-packed as I would have liked, but the story was good in its own way. I enjoyed knowing that Luke can be normal and fall in love and ALMOST fall to the dark side, because even he can't be perfect. I didn't really understand the part about the slave mines and Commander Thanas because that wasn't explained in the book (at least, if it was, I missed it). Also, it was mostly about Luke. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of Luke Skywalker. But I'm an even bigger fan of Leia Organa(not yet a Solo) and there really wasn't that much about her (and Han). The parts that were about her were great, though. I loved the part where Vader. . .whoops, Anakin Skywalker appears to Leia. The book was pretty good. Anything that has to do with STAR WARS is automatically a pretty good book.

I don't recommend this book for people who are just getting into STAR WARS. Read some of the other ones first, then get into this.

Summary: This book was great.
Review: This book was really great. Kathy Tyers did a wonderful job of capturing the spirit of the original Star Wars series.

Summary: An exciting, yet complicated read.
Review: I read "The Truce at Bakura" when it first came out in paper back and the "Trilogy" was just a wonderful movie memory. This book brought all the excitement of the movies back. I was very leery of the book at first because I thought it would never live up to the movies, but in it's own complicated way it exceeded the movies. It takes many twists and turns but the real pay off is the author's understanding of the characters and the way she stays true to Luke, Leia, and Han. Because this book captured my imagination, I have read everyone of the new "Starwars" novels and will continue to do so.

Summary: THIS IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!
Review: I bought this one out of curiosity, but when I started reading it I finished it in one day!!!! Finally someone describes Luke as a normal person who thinks of other things than ancient mysteries and strange powers. And the Ssi-ruuvi are definitely the best aliens ever imagined in Sw or other universe!!! But why did this one have to be so short? Why couldn't it have at least three parts as long as this one????????? Keep going, Kathy Tyers!!! And by the way, Luke IS a blonde!!!!!

Summary: Women writers rule!
Review: It makes the blood in my system boil when I read anti-women comments. Oh my, oh my. What century are they living in? Disgust and loathe! Anyway, as a true SW freak, I say that Kathleen Tyers has written a beautiful book. This is what Star Wars is about. Action, death, fights, weapons, compassion, and love. She has it going on, all signed, sealed, and delivered. It just proves to the men that women can write, and we shall be leaving you in the dust faster than you can say "May the Force be with you!"
