Summary: a reader
Review: the truce at bakura was a very well written book I also enjoyed how Kathy Tyers tied in luke's love life.this was a very enjoyable book and encourage you to read it.i am 10 years old

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fantasticly Cool!
Review: It was a great book. It's a good book that let's you really see that the war dosn't stop because of the Emporer's death. You also get to see the flaws and specialties of these charachters.Kathy Tyers does a good job of adding layers using fear, prejudices, and the mistrust between the Alliance and the Empire. To make it more interesting there is a human that serves the enemy. His point of view is unsure, but unique. He knows what is happening and why but he dosen't know what to do.What a blockbuster! Read it on my recommendation. I am a fanatic. I would know if their were any no nos or false statements made. Their isn't any.

Summary: Very good, but lacking some
Review: This book was so good! The only part I didn't enjoy was when the Ssi-ruuk performed entechment. Talk about gross! And then, Dek WANTS his soul to go to a battle droid? That is kinda out-of-it! I wish Luke would've stayed with Gaeri. And I hated it when Dev died. But the all-over best part was when 3P0 was dressed as a stormtrooper!

Summary: Bakura Vacation ( Sort of)
Review: This is a great book !! It's only flaw was that I didn't understand the beging with Luke and Wedge(????)! This is mostly about Luke Skywalker. It tells the thoughts of the chariters and has lot's of details !! I was surpised that the rebles helped the empire. I was also surpised that Bakura wanted to become a reble world. A most buy for any Star Wars fan !!!

Summary: The Best! A Must Read!
Review: Oh, I just love this book! I cried and cried when Dev died! The Ssi-ruuk are sooo cool! The relationship between Luke and Gaeriel is so awesome! I wish she'd gone with him, but I know that wouldn't have worked. Oh well. Please write more!

Summary: This book is really SICK!
Review: This plot was much too weird for a Star Wars story. It was an interesting twist having an alliance between the newly forming Republic and the Empire, but the alien lizard people really spoiled what could otherwise have been a good story. The part about Dev was absolutely pathetic. If you're really interested in good character development - good and evil alike, stick to Zahn's books.

Summary: This book is okay, I guess
Review: This book is very slow and I got confused in the beginning when Wedge found that drone ship and Luke had to go and help him(?!). I thought it was funny when Han went to rescue Leia and he had to hide in the fireplace. The small relationship between Luke and Gaeriel is cool, too. The parts where the Ssi-ruuk were enteching people is the most boring part in the book.

Summary: This book was so very slowwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Review: Truce at bakura has to be one of the most boring books I've read so far in the star wars universe. The plot took so long to develope and the storytelling did nothing to motivate me in any way to like this book.

Summary: A good stroy... but not great.
Review: This was the 1st Star Wars book I read in the post-RotJ era. I must say, it was not bad... but not good either. It lacked action, the entire middle was boring... but at least the story kept itself along. Good points were the new invaders, the forced peace between the alliance and empire, and Liea's visit from Anakin Skywalker. Bad was the boring relations between Luke and that one girl, and Dev's "enslavement". If you really want to know what happened after Jedi, then read this... but if you want action like in the movies go read Zahn's books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best - or very close to it.
Review: Kathy Tyers did an amazing job with this book. I loved the fact that it picked up the day after the battle of Endor (Luke is still healing from his battle with Vader and the Emporer).

I guess it may have started a little slow, and I think the bit about Leia's psycological issues with Vader being her father and all was unnecessary, or over done. But these were truly minor annoyances at most. The rest of the novel made up for it.

I've read a lot of the Star Wars novels. In my opinion, "The Truce at Bakura" by Kathy Tyers rates at the top with Timothy Zahn and Michael A. Stackpole.

I can see why this novel may not appeal to the 12-15 year old reader. But for someone with a little more maturity, who appreciates a well-contrived and well-written story with accurate character representation, and believable dialogue, I recommend reading this book.

I think the author did a particularly good job in her portrayal of Luke Skywalker. I found his thoughts and actions to be in perfect accord with the character defined by the movies.

I only wish Kathy Tyers would write another one.
