Summary: A new take on an old favorite.
Review: After defeating the Empire, the Rebels face a new and even more dangerous enemy. What really makes "The Truce at Bakura" interesting are the alien antagonists and the manner in which they deal with their victims. Tyers also does a good job depicting battle sequences.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: It was very informative and political, needed more action.
Review:

This book is definitely for high level readers.
It has a lot of politics and neogociating by words.
It has action action a little fight here and there.
Suspence arous however more to the end.
But sad to say the last few chapters are the best part in the story.

Summary: Good book the for the young or old
Review: This book was better than I expected. This was my first time reading any Star Wars book. I was surprised at the quality of the writing and the continuity between all the books and the movies. I really enjoyed reading this book and would highly recomend it to anyone who is just starting out into the Star Wars universe or who has been a fan since the begining.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: Kathy Tyers has done an excellent job in this book! I have just begun to read it and can't put it down! I got online just to look at the reviews. There is ONE problem though. I don't like the way she describes Luke. It makes you think he's a different person, but all else is great. The Ssi-ruuk are the best aliens in all StarWars, and the Empire and Alliance going together is a great idea, I can't wait to find out what happens. If you really want an exiting read with plenty of StarWars action, you better check this book out!

Summary: I've read this one several times and it still makes no sense
Review: Imagine if Star Wars met the Borg and Brannon Braga wrote it, but for once left out time-travel as the main plot device. He would be completely lost and wouldn't have a clue what to write, and so would probably devise a mess similar to this book. It just doesn't make any sense. At all. Ever. Kind of like a Brannon Braga story.

Summary: Ssi-ruuk make me sick
Review: Luke has had so many failed relationships like Callista, Teneniel and Leia (but I don't blame that) so go and bring in another one why don't you? The ssi-ruuk and entechment-ugh! Lets not go there!

Summary: Catching interest from this Star Wars fan!
Review: I am merely beginning to read Truce at Bakura and already it makes me want to read until I finish. I do need reading brakes every now and then, but I just don't like to not read this book. In my opinion, Kathy Tyers is a great author in her sense of that galaxy far, far away. I especially love how she individually describes each character. Whether it be the look on their face or the tone of their voice. The Force is with this novel!

Summary: Disappointing!
Review: I was very disappointed by "The Truce at Bakura." There were some interesting parts, but overall I thought that it didn't capture the spirit of the "Star Wars" stories. I was confused with the stuff about Bakura's political standings, which made for a difficult read. There was hardly any action. But what I was really disappointed by was the character development. Eppie was more believable when she was comatose, because when she was healed she became a boring, cliched character. Gaeriel was a real jerk, and having Luke blinded by his love for her was really out of character for him. Also, trying to be this "tough guy" was never in his job description. "A Jedi feels no passion?" Please! When did THIS happen? I'd give this book a five because I thought that it was, for the most part, well written, which was really the only thing going for it.

Summary: Amazing.
Review: I adore this book. It had all the character development of the movies-that it what I find most important in a book. I want all my favorite characters talking and interacting. It makes you feel good. The book had a good plot, and I was interested in what was happening. I never came across a part where I wanted to skip over it. Only one problem: It was too short! It ended too soon. I will look forward to more Kathy Tyers books.

Summary: Please dont buy this book!
Review: This book I merely read to know what happened after Return of the Jedi. The book is disappointing, it lacks character development, suspense, or a truly interesting storyline that is the trademark of Star Wars. In addition the true with the Empire is disappointing, unrealistic, and goes against everything the "rebels" believe in. In addition the authour leaves us confused at many points with his explanations and its narritive. However I do believe that there are other good Star Wars books, The best I've read is Shadows of the Empire, and Timothy Zahn's blockbuster series. (although the second was a little slow).
