Summary: YAY - a story line for one of the Greatest games ever.
Review: If your a fan of the game (why would you read it if you aren't) you will love this. Knee-Deep tells the story of the first game in the DOOM series where ex-space marine Fly McTaggart takes on the invasion force of another dimension. All the monsters are here - imps, pig-things, big scary end of level guys, etc. You will find yourself reading the book and actually knowing where he is in the game. This takes the game to a new level.

Summary: Great Work
Review: A buddy let me borrow a copy of this, lol. A longtime fan of ID Software, I was quite interested in a storyline to accompany the greatest FPS title ever made. Definitely impressed! Incredible details, great reference to the actual game, without being a boring text version OF the game. Definitely read if you have played the game.

Summary: MAGNIFISANT
Review: A Thriller that takes you on a wild ride through a slaughtered-up space fortress fighting demons and looking for lost buddies as you find out more and more of what happened to the space station. Highly recommend this one and it's sequil.

Summary: Nobody told him to go to hell, but he still did
Review: This is one of the first sci-fi books I ever read, and it's purely unique. The humor and absolute confusion that this marine finds as he does everything from shoot a rocket down a monster's throat to finding his buddy in the bowels of hell will have you reading this book over and over. Now that I have read this one, it's time to move on to the rest of the books in the series.

Summary: All my teammates are dead!!!
Review: Hell descends upon Mars and its two moon. The only marine to endure the onslaught is the only one who doesn't know a damn thing about whats going on! He destroyes everything he sees that doesn't resemble a human!

Summary: got violence? this book does...
Review: It starts as normal testing of the portal but soon becomes the nightmare of the century! Demons pour in through the portal and massacre every thing in sight. Then a marine "Fly" Taggart's team is sent in to inspect the strange happenings. The only one to survive the onslaught is Taggart as he fights his way through Hell's minions to escape. If you like DooM you'll love this book and its 3 sequels: Hell on Earth, Infernal Sky, and End Game. Demons Imps and zombies! Oh My!

Summary: You will not rest until you finish this book.
Review: I originally read this book when it was first published in 1995. I was 14 years old at the time and I still enjoy it as much as I did then, although the book definitely reads much quicker than it used to, and I can usually finish it in just a few hours. Don't get me wrong, however, this is an extremely exciting book that will keep you turning the pages until you reach the back cover. Then, you'll want to go purchase the 2nd book in the series, "Hell On Earth".

The writing style in this book is relatively basic, which ends up working very well in getting combat scenes and character feelings across to the reader. You won't find yourself stumbling through the text either, as it flows relatively smoothly. Character development is very subtle, and you won't realize that you know the characters extremely well until the end of the book. This is good, because it keeps you guessing.

Above all, the aspect that makes this book shine is the way the combat scenes are layed out. They're extremely exciting and make you want more. Read this book!
