Rating: Summary: I think we could have done without this one... Review: As a supreme fan of the Deathstalker series, I have to admit that this chapter really added nothing. With the exception of the 2 alternate Hazels (very well done) there were no new characters and no new plots. The few "half-plots" (e.g. the various trips to Shubb and BB's death) were not as crisply defined as in previous books in the series. Can't wait tho' for the wind-up in Destiny.
Rating: Summary: Classic deathstalker story but the war is over so..now what? Review: As an ardent fan of the Deathstalker saga, I feel that I can be somewhat critical about Deathstalker:Honor. I was actually surprised to hear that he was continuing the series but who am I to complain. I love Owen,Hazel and everybody in the series but I am getting tired of how indestructible these folks are!! Owen has been crushed to a pulp and still comes back for seconds!! That is a quibble complaint. All in all I felt that this book was filler for the upcoming book. I might be suffering from a case of over expectantcy . Deathstalker fans won't be disappointed. This book has all the makings. Huge walls, TRULY alien races, nonstop battles and impossible feats of strength and power. I loved the 2 alternates of Hazel. 2 words-totally wierd. The sisters of glory were fun and i can't wait for Owen to finally blow his cool and kill some politician. The sarcastic humor is ever present and you will read the book multiple times just becase it is soo much fun. if you feel differently, let me know but don't swear at me. I said what i felt.
Rating: Summary: Lord Kulthorax Review: As Supreme Overlord of my planet I must say that the Deathstalker Saga was a great influence on how I act. That is all.
Rating: Summary: Another Fun Read Review: Havin read this book for the third time(I've reread all the books in the series so I'll be pumped up for the last one)I will say that some errors were made, but nothing that I couldn't figure out. I wonder if he does them on purpose to see if he can catch us off guard or something. There are times when the humor in it would make me crack up, and my friends look at me funny. I loved it! Kick ass Owen!!
Rating: Summary: If yuo like good writing, it aint here Review: Hey folks, do you like fantasy, then go and read Neil Gaimen or Tolkien or Mervlyn Peak, cos this book is utter garbage. Lets start with the plot, we have 2/3 of a book setting up the end of human civalistion and the rest concerned with four big battles. The races and charicters are all pinched from eirlier writers. the ballance of charicters is totally over cooked, Green has tried to create supermen and now dosn't know what to do with them, Owen Deathstalker and his chums from the much alluded to but never described madness maze are litteraly unstoppable and as a result the violence (which is sloppily written with much "faster than humanly possible" action) is farcical to say the least. The main charicter developement seems to centre round Owen desire to "retain his humanity" but to be frank he is sush a washed out and unlovable charicter you whish he'd just get on and leave humanity for the good of the rest of us. The quality of the books structure and premise is only surpassed in its awfullness by its execution, Green is a booring and untalanted writer, if I read the line "but Owen and Hazel stopped being human a long time ago." one more time Im gonna demand Green's head on a stick. There are two real tragedies to this book, one: I actually read all the way to the end and still nothing happened, and two: Hes getting money for writing this tosh. I cant express how bad this book is without deficating on it. Unit_52
Rating: Summary: Its starting to get real old Review: I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, and thought that the 3rd book was readable, but this one, the 4th in the series, is starting to get painful. It seems like the author has just recycled scenes from the first three books. There's very little plot, essentially: Parliament member: There's something evil, hideous and terrible on (fill in planet name here). Owen: OK. Hazel and I will go kill it. Hazel: Yeah, I can't wait to smash something and kill something else and stab and wound and destroy. Then they go. Not much of a plot. Really sloppy, bad writing that could have been trimmed down from 500+ pages to about 200 pages. The characters frequently repeat conversations that they had 20 pages previously. I guess you can tell I'm a little disappointed with this book. I'm giving it two stars instead of one because the action, when it eventually happens, is still pretty entertaining, and the author does have some pretty cool ideas; they're just not carried out very well in this book. My opinion, this book isn't worth reading. If you like the Deathstalker series, go back and reread 1--3.
Rating: Summary: PLEASE finish this series! Review: I find Green's work to be easy to read with rapidly moving events. However, although I enjoy the escapades of most of his heroes, I have to say I'm getting tired of Deathstalker & Co. Not that they're not entertaining, it's just that 5 books is way too excessive. It feels like Green's just trying to see how many more adventures he can dream up, regardless of how the overall plot suffers. In short, I feel lost. Too many characters stumbling from one thing to another. In DEATHSTALKER HONOR, Owen gets engaged, possessed, mutilated, brought back from the dead(he does it himself no less) and Hazel and Ruby get to kill more people.(You have to hand it to Green, his female characters hardly take a backseat when it comes to kicking butt). Overall, I'm not really sure what happens. This is just a filler to keep us waiting for DEATHSTALKER DESTINY, supposedly the last book in the series. I miss the days of BLUE MOON RISING and BLOOD AND HONOR. I hope Green returns to more independent novels at the end of the Deathstalker saga.

Rating: Summary: Awesome! Thrilling! A work of art. Review: I have read many of his books, but this oine is the best. It is full of exciting events, subtle intrigue, and other things that make his books so good. His flamboyant style appeals to me, as does his plot. Buy it. Read it. You'll love it!
Rating: Summary: Good... But Could Have Been Better Review: I have to say, I LOVE Simon R. Green. And, I consider him to be one of my favorite authors. however, his work does have a slight tendency to be inconsistant. For instance, Blue Moon Rising was wonderful. However, Blood and Honor, and Down Among The Dead Men, both of which took place in the same world, were not nearly of the same quality. But we're not talking about Blue Moon Rising. Deathstalker was wonderful. Deathstalker Rebellion was just as good. I even liked Deathstalker War, a book which some readers have found faults with. But, Deathstalker Honor leaves a little to be desired. It just didn't have the same intensity as the others. And, I didn't like where he went with the characters, and their friendships. He spends far too long setting up the story, and the dialogue starts to get a bit contrived. But then again, it's not supposed to be great literature. It's supposed to be fun, and I think that Deathstalker Honor definitely succeeds at being fun. And furthermore, it left me wanting to read the last one. And that really is the more important thing. :-)
