Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: ANOTHER GREAT READ FOR LOST REGIMENT FANS! Review: William Forstchen once again brings us to Valennia, a distant world where Civil War era soldiers are locked in a battle for surivial with the Bantaag, a race of mongol-like, human eating aliens! For people who have not read any of The Lost Regiment series the inital premise does seem absurd, but Mr. Forstchens break-neck pacing and excellent action scenes make his stories truly exciting. In this latest installment, Col Keane and the men of the 35th face an invasion of their territory by Haa'rk, leader of the Bantaag horde, who, also marooned on Valennia, posesses knowledge of modern weaponry and tactics. Re-arming the horde with modern weapons and uning skillful tactics, Haa'rk breaks the blockade of his harbors and successfully invades the territory of the Republic, cutting off and Flanking the Republic armies. Having established a beachhead, Haa'rk races to crush the Republic armies before help can be sent. Mr. Forstchen, a civil war era Historian depivers us all the details of warfare from that era, batteries of guns, strategic use of rail, cavalry charges, supply logistics and all the juicy details of warfare that Lost Regiment fans have come to love. Throw in scenes of amazing heroics, near-death escapes and modern weapons such as the tank, mortars, submarines winged flyers and a suprise new weapon development by the Republic at the end of the story and you have a really fun read. I look forward to the next installment of this terriffic, intelligently written action series. P.S. - Please give us a large scale map of the world, showing us where all the players are, I get confused without a reference. Thank You.
