The worlds constructed by his descriptions are extravagant and lush. His basic premise (of world builders who rule their domains like gods and have petty conflicts among themselves) yields insight to our own condition and lust for power. This book is highly recommended for anyone who likes the work of Tolkien or Piers Anthony. It is great escapist literature
