Review: This is the 3rd book i'v read of the series, before i read the magic of recluce i was reading the last book of the series in Terry Goodkinds "Sword of the Truth", these books had got my attention more then Terry Goodkinds books did. The only thing i have to say remotly bad, but not really bad at all is that i expected the series to contiune with something to do with the characters all kinned or the main character agian in the series, other then that these books were great, i would really recomend them to any fantasy person, also try Dragonlance and Sword of the truth, those are absolutly great books also.

Summary: kill me now
Review: Unfortunately, the Magic Engineer was dissapointing, straying from the captivating writing style of the first two books in the series. Unlike them, this book was dull, and dragged on mercilessly, every meal is described in more detail than anything else. Who passes the bread to who, who swallows the beer after Dorrin, our main character, what technique does someone use to rip off a piece of CRUSTY bread, because there apparently is only CRUSTY bread in this world. The novel is about Dorrin, a smith and healer and all around nice guy who is sent from the order bound island of Recluce because he wants to invent machines. So he goes and settles in the little town of Diev, where he spends the next 500 pages making toys and weapons for his friends in the army opposing the White Wizards. Occasionally, he makes love to his lady friend Liedral, who looks like a man. In the end, he quickly finishes off some of the enemy and the book is over. Try banging your head against a hard surface instead of reading this crap.
