Rating: Summary: Great book! I can't wait to read the rest Review: I read the book in two days with only work and school interrupting. I could not put the book down. Don't believe the negitive reviews like the Christian Ruin Mist-bashers. I am heavy in Chistianity but with the stressful world we live in there is nothing like COMPLETE Un-reality to make your day brighter and beter. Ruin Mist is the perfect escape. I just ordered the rest of the series and can't wait.
Rating: Summary: A Fantastic Read! great characters, plot and pace Review: This was my first Robert Stanek book and I was seriously impressed. I think what really grabbed me about this book, and this series, is the author's style, the great cast of characters and the fast pace. Stanek has given us a fantasy novel where magic is rare, things don't always work out perfectly, and heroes are refreshingly human. If you think that not having a hero who has some superpowers would be boring. Thing again, instead it gives you people with whom you can clearly identify and in the end the heroes are really heroes, not cutouts that use magic to solve everything. For those whowant magic and monsters, dont get me wrong, there is both, but its not overbearing. We get human problems and real solutions. Stanek's characters are fully developed and he expertly shifts point of view between them. The story is solid and tighly wrapped and a must read.
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Oh my! Amazing great charaters plot and battles Read the best book. Buy it.
Rating: Summary: Stanek is a must read! Review: Wow!! I have read all three so far and they just keep getting better and better!! Each one more magical and wonderful than the previous!! I don't know how Robert Stanek does it, but these books are by far the best I have read in a long time! I recommend these to anyone, no matter the age! Only reason this isn't a 5 is because Kingdom Alliance is so much better!
Rating: Summary: Thrills! Mystery! Suspense! Action! Review: This is truly a special book. I am a voracious reader, but have seldom taken the time to stop and write a review. This book deserves it. Keeper Martin's Tale reads like an action/ thriller, it's a real pager. The only reason I didn't finish the book in one night is because I had to go to work the next day. I am recommending this book to everyone I know, even those people who are not fantasy readers.
Rating: Summary: Solid Supense...Closer to 4 1/2 stars Review: It was very good. Almost all of the time when you start out a beginning of a series you have a few things that are a little off! I liked it and I really got into the book after the first few chapters. The rest in the series are great!
Rating: Summary: A rarity among fantasy! Review: Robert Stanek is a favorite writer of mine and this is a good showcase for his talent for his potent imagination. Magically he takes reality and twists it into something far stranger - a place of kings, queens, great families, great men and women. His characterisations are absolutely fantastic. Whilst Vilmos (the hero) is a fairly typical, he balances him against the introspective Adrina and the mysterious Seth. The story itself is taut, beautifully-written, thought-provoking and a pleasure to read. Not a long read but one I'm sure you will come back to time after time. I highly recommend that you readit.
Rating: Summary: Another bad one by Stanek Review: The Keeper Martin books by Robert Stanek are so bad that it almost defies description. There is sooooo much good fantasy available. This is not it. The writing is horrible, the plotting almost non-existent and the characters are paper-thin. Harry Potter, Artimus Fowl, The Golden Compass, George R.R. Martin (now that's a great series for the adult reader) Tolkein, you name it, the list goes on and on. But Ruin Mist is not on the list. YOU could write a better book than this.
Rating: Summary: A definite for those who appreciate good reading Review: Robert Stanek's first in a quintet of thrilling books, Keeper Maritn's Tale (Ruin Mist Chr.), sweeps you into his imaginary kingdoms where the men and elves are enemies and magic is being cleansed from the world. The Alder's are introduced as are the Tyr'anths (you'll understand when you read Kingdom Alliance). Their intrigues, backstabbing and political games combined with the coming of the Fourth Wind, and the dark one of elvish prophecy make for great reading. Bravo, Robert!
Rating: Summary: grows with the reader Review: Many of the creatures and adventures will put you on the edge of your seat. However you will recognize the personalities and grow along will Vilmos, Seth and Adrina as they face new challenges as they learn to deal with life. It has many memorable characters. Read this before Kingdom Alliance for sure.
