Summary: Fascinating! I've never read anything quite like it!
Review: I consider myself to be a feminist, and I love the charactors. Isabeau is a kindhearted dreamer with a strong spirit...almost the exact opposite of her twin sister, Iseult. Scruffy, the boy thief, and his newfound friend, Tomas, the healing boy, were adorable. I could not put the dang book down! Whoever said they almost screamed when they saw the back page, well I DID scream! I didn't even realize it was over. I finished a page, turned it, and- COMING SOON IN JUNE 1999! My best friend and her mother looked at me and laughed when I told them what was wrong. Although the plot was complicated, I had no trouble figuring out what was going on. I enjoyed the language as well. I had to translate for my friend when she read it. This is definitely one of the best books I have ever read and I can't wait for the sequel!

Summary: My #1 favorite book! I just couldn't put it down!
Review: This book has all the fantasy creatures, dragons, sorceresses, elves, spirits, fairies, kings & queens... and a whole bunch of other brilliant creatures that Forsyth describes so perfectly.

In this beautifully thought out world, anything can happen. Although the plot winds ferociously, you will never get confused. There is plenty of character development, but it is wound in with action so you can never get bored. I especially enjoyed the slang that Forsyth created. At first it was a little confusing, but then it became like it's own little language to fit this new world.

The story wraps around you by the first page, and on and on you travel with different characters, to learn all the perspectives. The plot is beautifully crafted, and just like any other start to a series/trilogy, it leaves you dangling at the end.

The one flaw in the entire book was after I read it. I laughed and winced with these characters, I became part of them. I looked in the back to see! when the next book would come out... June '99! I almost screamed. I still don't know if I can wait that long for the next book in this fantastic world.

Forsyth: Hurry up and write the next book!!!!

Summary: This book is not a cliche epic fantasy.
Review: Whilst this book does feature your traditonal flying firebreathing dragons it is anything but cliche. From the opening scene it wraps you in magic and mystery.

The plot has more twists and turns then a pretzel. Yet the book is easy to follow and makes perfect sense. Everything that happens couldn't possibly have happened any other way.

The finale left me hanging out for the second book in the trilogy. Having read book 2 I can honestly say it won't disappoint anyone who likes this one

This book is an absolute must.

Summary: Not just a book, but a masterpiece. Honestly!
Review: Well, I've never wrote a review before, but this time I had to do it. This book hooked me from the start, the "world" is so huge and rich that you never know when another surprise or character will show up. Have ye ever though of making a computer game set in the World of Eileanan? Plus the story's far from over. I can't wait for the sequel.

Summary: I had to come write this review as soon as I finished it!
Review: A rich, imaginative backdrop for a new series, and Kate Forsyth is a first time author! I've never written a review for a book before, but knew that I had to turn some other readers on to this book. This has all of the makings of a long running series in the style of David Eddings, but it gets you hooked even faster. I'll be anxiously awaiting the sequel.

Summary: Argh!
Review: I loved this book. It grabs you, an effect other authors have to resort to cheap tricks to accomplish. I am going to go nuts waiting for the sequel to come out- the story is far from over. Isabeau is a wonderful creation- I almost cried when she got hurt! Isuelt and Bacciche (spelling (= ) are at least funny to observe, and Meghan rocks. i love strong female characters (like Lessa and Menolly from Anne McCaffrey), and this book contains a seemingly endless supply. Read it!

Summary: One of more interesting fantasy "worlds" developed recently!
Review: Mesmerds, cluricauns, nyxes, fairgean...the list of magical creatures inhabiting Eileanan seems to never end. Each species has unique magical abilities and unusual physical characteristics. This book is well written, fast paced and full of fascinating characters. The only bad thing I can say about it is that the sequel isn't due to come out until June, 1999! Kate Forsyth is a great new addition to fantasy writing and I hope this is only the beginning of a long, prolific career.

Summary: my review of a pretty good book
Review: I am currently half way through the final book in the Witches of Eileanan series, and have found them to be a fantastic set of books.

I have found the story highly original and engaging; the characters well developed and the style to be very descriptive and enjoyable.

Initially the use of a slightly different dialect for the characters irritated me, and i almost stopped reading the first book. But i am very glad i didnt as it quickly ceased to bother me as i got engrossed in the characters and story.

I found these books almost impossible to put down and would highly recommend them to any fantasy lover!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: simplistic and preachy
Review: While the characters aren't completely unlikable, their adventures lack depth. Encounters with villians are short and end too easily. To add to this, the book reads like a morality play Wiccan style.

Summary: Wow!
Review: This was an excellent book! I absolutely loved it! I wasn't sure if I would, but I had picked it up when my husband had bought some more Drizzt books. I decided to give it a try. Now, I'm anxiously awaiting Amazon to deliver the rest of the series!!!! :)
