Summary: the best fantasy book I've read in ages!!!
Review: 'The Witches of Eileanan' is not only the best fantasy book I've read in ages, it's one of the best I've ever read. It has all the elements I love, like adventure, magic, intrigue and romance, yet puts a new spin on it all. The book is beautifully written and you lose yourself in the land, which is full of strange, wondrous creatures. We lucky Aussies have already got Book 2, which is even better, but I'm now desperately waiting for the next in the series, 'cause I can't wait to find out what happens!

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!
Review: This has got to be one of my favorite books. The way it is written and the characters are wonderful! The characters are unique and you can really connect with their problems and their triumphs. You know who the villain is although you feel sympathetic towards her. Although there are many characters I had no trouble keeping track of them. If you EVER decide to pass by this book DON'T! It is a GREAT book!

Summary: Great reading, the characters pull you into the story.
Review: After realising that this is the same book I read titled "Dragonclaw - Book 1 of the Witches of Eileanan, I just had to write a comment. I have been waiting it seems forever for the sequel. The characters grab you and pull you into the story of the two girls with different upbringings, the different types of faeries. Come on sequel, I'm waiting!

Summary: The subject matter in this book is Xrated for violence.
Review: This book is poorly written, moving leadenly and predictably along. There are several pages of detailed and graphically described mutilation and torture of a young girl and boy with sexual violation added gratuatously. This is not a book to stumble across as a good read because the images may sicken you for days.

Summary: Can any one actually put this book down!
Review: I couldn't and i loved every page that i read. JUNE 1999 i cant wait that long and im sure that no one else who read the book could possible either. The magic and mystery of the book makes you want to keep reading forever because Kate Forsyth crafts her characters so carefully and makes you want to wrap yourself in the captivating storyline. I WANT THE SEQUEL NOW!!! If anybody looks at the cover of the book and says they dont want to read it, THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THERE MISSING.

BOTTOM LINE: READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A well crafted and innovative novel.
Review: Few people enjoy reading through a lengthy review. I, like many of you, have been 'through the hoops', "Lord of the Rings", C.S. Lewis, David Eddings (I know, I know) etc etc. Ms Forsyth has managed to paint a new and innovative story in this series of books. Interesting characters that communicate in such an entertaining manner, coupled with a diverse range of different races makes for one tremendous read. I particularly enjoyed the element of realism mixed in with the fantasy that makes you realise that things don't always turn out 'rosy' and expected. There are so many fantasy Authors but few have the gift to create a new and thoroughly commendable world that enthralls as well as this series.

Summary: I lost interest after about two days...
Review: I borrowed this book from a friend, who had nothing but good things to say about it... I had only time to read it in the evenings, after work and before I had to go to bed... and it just didn't hold my interest. Plus, I didn't care for the decidedly pagan atmosphere of the world the book was set in... but that's my problem, not the author's. That's all I can really say about it.

Summary: Absolutely fantastic!
Review: What can I say. I'm a fanatic. For those who wish more I have just finished reading Book Two: The Pool of Two Moons - it's wonderful and worth waiting for. Roll on Book 3.

Summary: There are so many good things I just can't name them all.
Review: I came to this sight to look for an advance on the next book, but it wasn't listed yet =( . However I saw you could write a reveiw and had to do it!

This book was amazing! Although the plot is conveluted you are led through with the greatest of ease. I love fantasy novels and this one was EXTREAMLY good! The caracters were great and well developed, but I realized half way through that there HAD to be a sequel, the story line was that long. Even so you never want to put the book down!

Forsyth had all the caracters worked out, she even had me feeling sorry for the evil queen. I like the way that Iseult and Isabeau are feel each other's pain. How ever when Isabeau's hand was mutilated I was very close to tears.

My favroite part is when Lasiar stands up for him self and comes back to Isabeau. I hope he becomes her familar.

On the last page you really start to get an inkling of what the prophecy about her means.
