Summary: Beautifully crafted masterpiece.
Review: I recieved this book from my mother and wasn't entirely sure if I should read a re-written fairy tale, thats not quite my thing, but I did and if I hadn't I would have really missed out.
This Book is a fantasy/romance noval that literally drags readers into the past. It is a tale of tragedy and overcoming the odds and finding love, all the while demolishing all the normal cliches.
Although this is a romantic book it doesn't get romantic till the very end, although the courtship is there throughout half of the book (although completely without flirtation).
I was literally moved to tears ( and have every time I've read this book since ) by the rape of the main character Sorcha. For those who will be worried about reading it, the rape is not graphic although thoroughly distressing as readers truly do fall in love with Sorcha.
The characters are very well thought out and I found myself hating Lord Richard and Lady Oonagh with a passion, and falling in love with Red, Simon, John and Ben, who were all fabulous.
AND IF YOU'RE SKIMMING REVIEWS PLEASE READ THIS: some reviewers have called this a pure bodice ripper. This is utterly ridiculus as in the entire book Sorcha is raped once and doesn't even kiss anyone until the last couple pages of the book. Ignore those reviewers, they are obviously insane.
SO DEFINATELY READ THIS BOOK. It's one of my favourites and deserves a place of honour on any book shelf.

Summary: Wow
Review: When I first began this book, I found it overly cliched and not particularly interesting, although the writing was good. But I kept reading because my friend had given this book such strong recommendations. By the time I got to the juicy part of the book, I couldn't go to sleep. I lay in bed at midnight, tears streaming down my face, as I read the last hundred pages.

This is a great book. If you, like me, are a lover of fantasy who has read a few too many boring rewrites of old fairy tales, please read this.

Summary: A powerfull and inspiring tale of love and devotion
Review: When I first picked up this book and started reading I wondered if I had wasted my money. The narrative is somewhat unique and was put-offish at first. But, for some reason, I could not stop reading. The style just grew on me and I kept reading until I realized it was 3:30am and had to wake up early in the morning for school.

This is truly an amazing tale, the love and commitment shown by Sorcha, the main character, is incredibly inspiring. The things that she must endure so her brother can be returned is saddening and heartbreaking and powerfull.

This is a emotional and moving novel. Once it gets its claws into you it will not let go untill you have turned that last page, and even then will stick in your mind long after. It will remind you why you read novels in the first place: to be uterly and tottaly transported to a different world, and in the process moved to tears.

A must read.

Summary: I strongly recommend this beautiful and magical book!!
Review: I had bought this book by accident through a book club. I had wrote down the wrong code number. Turns out it was the best mistake I had ever made. So what if it is a remake of a classic fairy tale. It is in my opinion one of the greatest remakes of all time. Daughter of the Forest is the for most beautiful book I have ever read. It has become my favorite fairy tale of all time and I strongly recommend this book to all those who love fairy tales and believe in fairies.

Summary: Just another bodice ripper
Review: Taking an old folk tale and constructing a full length novel around it is a good idea. Unfortunately this book turns out to be a bodice ripper. Perhaps I've been spoiled by too much Marian Zimmer Bradley

Review: Really wonderful book. If you like this, you'll like the 'Raging Quiet'--also great book.

Summary: Excellent Rendition of the Six Swans
Review: I have always had a fascination with the tale of the Six Swans. Even though I knew the beginning, I never really found out the ending. So, when I found this in the bookstore, I knew I had to buy it. And, I'm glad I did because it's a fantastic book. Even if this book is the author's debut, she did a well crafted job of storytelling. I've seen other reviewers say that her writing is heartfelt and I must agree. It's more than that though; it's also magical and romantic. Everything is very detailed throughout the book so there are no loopholes like other fantasy novels. Daughter of the Forest surpassed my expectations and surprisingly, I want to continue reading this trilogy. This is an excellent addition to the fantasy lover's bookshelf.

Summary: Bodice-ripper
Review: This is a well-written book but undeniably a bodice-ripping romance novel. I mean, what's with all the references to the stunning physical beauty and endless reservoirs of empathy found in bonny lord whats-his-name. AND on-and-on about the size of his manhood?!? Geez.

Summary: Irish Mythology Comes To Life
Review: This is possibly my favorite book ever, and believe me, I've read a LOT. Amazing detail, plot, characters and adaption of Celtic legend. I can read it over and over again, and enjoy it each and every time! Sorcha is such a strong person, and Hugh is perfect for her. I wish we heard more of Simon, though. Would've also liked to learn a bit about Niamh, Sorcha's mother. Fantastic reading!
