Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Forget the Creek Review: Mars is one of the best female orientate comics on the market. Kira and Rei (the main characters) appeal to the reader and their relationship becomes important to you. Their relationship doesn't come off as annoying or flaky like so many others. This isn't Creek romance this romance is deeper. Each character has multi -layers to them and skeletons in the closet. The plot and the characters deepen with each new novel. Mars is worth the read. It was one of the best selling girl comics in Japan for a reason.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Mars-a shoujo manga Review: Mars is one of the best shoujo manga (girl's manga) translated into english I have ever read. It is such a sweet story that is typical to many japanese manga but has not been brought to America...at least not in english anyway. The story is about a girl, Aso Kira (in Japan, they have their surname first) who is a kind of loner, she is always drawing and is a little guy-phobic. There's this guy in her university, Rei (I forget his last name ^_^') who is one of the really popular guys. They end up in the same class, sitting right next to eachother, and Kira prays that he won't notice her. As the story goes on, Kira realizes how much life there is in Rei and she ends up falling in love with him. I won't tell you the whole story but like a lot of typical shoujo manga, there are obstacles within their path to a relationship such as jealous girls and harassment. This may not be the best of choices for younger kids because there is talk of death and threats, but if you're used to that kind of stuff, I'd say go for it. Fuyumi Souryu's technique is sort of sketchy in places and she doesn't use a lot of background but that's because she focuses so much on her character development. The art style is so beautiful (it may take some getting used to...the eyes are really eyelashy) and they really depict the emotions of the characters. All in all, I'd say this is a definite read if you are an otaku (fanboy or fangirl) and a lover of shoujo manga!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: ::..An angst-filled romance of dramatic proportions..:: Review: MARS, the manga series by Fuyumi Soryo, is quite possibly one of the best series I have ever read. The two main characters are Rei Kashino, a rebellious biker who wears his delinquency like a badge, and Kira Aso, a shy, guy-phobic artist. The two have a chance meeting one day in the park, when Rei asks Kira where the medical center is. Having recognized him, she draws him a map, and runs in the opposite direction. Their relationship starts and blossoms from there, but with unfortunate interruptions. I highly recommend these books to anyone who would enjoy a romantic but saddening storyline and great art.

It is soooo wonderful! I can't say enough awesome things about it! I just love this series. I can't wait to read the rest of the 15 volumes! Anyway, every week I do a review on an anime, manga, or video game I think is worthy for the internet! (Almost all are... -_-) And this week I'm stuck between Mars and Chobits! Both are wonderful! But I think Mars is better! Sayonara and Seeyasoon, =^^=Danielle-chan=^^= (AKA Pocky-chan)

It does start out a little slow at first but by the end of the first book the reader is left wanting to know what happens next. It also deals with real situations and not just a regular "they meet and live happily ever after" type of story. It deals with lifes challenges as well as its joys. At the end of the series, you almost have become part of the story.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Modern day Romeo and Juliet Review: Rei-the player, Kira-the lonely mysterious girl. What do these two have in common? Each other. Immediately I fell in love with this series. Rei-who is that one guy that all the girls want, Kira-the one that all the girls hate, are pushed together by these people that love and hate them the most. Kira who is saved by Rei when she was sexually harrased by her teacher, tells her that he will be her, "protector" and anything that she wants he'll do it for her- he would even kill for her. You can see where this series will head. This love story epic will keep you turning the pages wanting more. The artwork is gorgeous and also unique-the story line superb. I can't wait to see the relationship develop between the two, but beware this is a long series, totaling about 15 volumes!!! It did very well in Japan. If you like Peach Girl and Marmalade Boy, then you will LOVE this series.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: simply incredible... Review: This is my favorite manga to date. With clean and simple lines, the artwork is very appealing. Soryo conveys the gamut of emotions... her facial expressions are the best I've ever seen. The story, too, has a rare depth. There's a hint of Romeo and Juliet here for main characters Rei and Kira, drawn to each other despite being polar opposites. With a refreshing approach, they are never broken up by trivial events (such as jealous rivals). Each has a layered, troubled past, and Soryo lets you see one bit at a time through the 15 volumes. She handles serious issues with a grace that makes them real, sometimes heartachingly real, but that realism never degenerates into an obsessive gloom: it is what makes the characters who they are, and they react appropriately to that history. And when they have each other, Rei and Kira can surmount the odds.In this first book, Rei and Kira meet, become friends, and start to develop an unrealized attraction as rivals try to push them apart: the delinquent playboy who has always had a thing for older, sexier women and the withdrawn artist who fears men. The awkward couple...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Drama for Feelings Review: This manga is one of the best serieses out there. It has the essential element of a teen soap opera without the completely unrealistic elements. It centers around two teenagers, Kira, 16, and Rei, 17, who meet and for some reason are drawn irrevocably to one another even though they seem like complete opposites. Rei is a motorcycle racer with a wealthy background, and Kira is a poor, but extremely talented artist that feels withdrawn from the world. Both see and bring out in one another what no one else is able to see. This volume picks up when they truely begin forming a relationship with one another and we begin to see a bit of Rei's past. It is a truely heart-wrenching and absorbing story that I consider the best shoujo teen Graphic Novel in circulation in the U.S. right now beside Paradise Kiss. I hope that anyone will find as much pleasure with this title as I continue to.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great deep book Review: This was an excellent book! Though some things are predictable, but maybe there will be a twist. This book is great for girls who are shy. This book was great in showing the deeper sides of people and how deep some feelings really are.
