Summary: [Guns & Glory]
Review: I've been a "Doom" fanatic for a very long time. The computer game revolutionized "shooting" games and gave a futuristic story about "alien invaders" (Demons & Satanic beings from hell) who've escaped their chains and cellblock's in the under-world through ancient "gates" in space. In my oppinion, the Doom series of books put a story and characters behind the senseless killing, thus creating a thrilling story line in the grand tradition of Heinland's "Starship Troopers" as the title at the top of the book suggests. This book (Hell on Earth) was my favorite out of the series and is highly recommended. After reading the first two books, you'll wonder why the major-motion picture starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the main hero was cancelled!

Summary: A good book, but not the best in the series.
Review: This book is the second chapter in the Doom series, and probably is the second best. Although there is not as much action in this as the first, it does serve up a good story. This book also introduces several new monsters. They are the Revenant (bony), Mancubus (fatty), Former Commandoes (Clyde?), and the Arch-Vile (fire-eater). Although these new monsters add an interesting twist to the story, you will notice the absense of many other monsters from the first book. The demons, hell-princes, flying skulls, and specters are only mentioned in this book. There are also one too many imps. This book could also have done without the religious talk. Overall, this is a must-read.

Summary: Hell on Earth - Yeah!
Review: Actually a very enjoyable read - much better than I would have thought for a game tie-in. Many very interesting ideas (mormons saving the world?) and interesting, non-standard characters. Even the style of writing, first person through three different characters in alternate chapters, works surprisingly well. Now to find the third book!

Summary: Best Sci-Fi series of all time!

Summary: The Second Book Doesn't Live Up to the Original
Review: The second in the DOOM novel series, this one isn't very good. It's very slow at first, and the pace doesn't change much. It still relates to DOOM in general, unlike the third and fourth books, which is good, but doesn't have many references to the DOOM II game itself, which is a shame. This book would be the worst in the series if not for the awful "DOOM: Infernal Sky". It's best to get this book just to know what happens next in the series, or just get #1 and #4 and not care about the story in between. That's my two cents.

Summary: THE BEST IN THE SERIES!
Review: HEll on earth is the most thrilling of the series. "Knee Deep in the Dead" is gripping but the grip is that of a Imp, okay a freaking big Imp. But "Hell on Earth" is where the whole book takes of, you don't know dick if you don't read "Hell on Earth" The story line behind Salt Lake, New York, and Hawaii, continues on through the next two books. People who havn't played the game will not like the books, but for us people who worship Doom the books are our Bible. All Hail DOOM! One problem though is the ending of the series in "Endgame" If you ask me I think that Dayfadd sould create an sutible ending, one fit for a couple of kick ass Marines!

"AND THE BIGGEST GOD DAMNED BOOT YOU CAN FIND!"
