Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever! Review: This book will be the best you ever read. I have only read "The Smallest Dragonboy", and it is the best story I have read in my entire life. It was so magnifficantly entwined, so majestically emotional, that I almost cried. And I am a boy! If you don't read this book, you are seriously missing out. If I could choose from any other book ever written, including the Harry Potter books, I would choose this one. And that is NOT an exaggeration.
Rating: Summary: wonderful series! Review: Ann McCaffrey is the best writer I know of. I thought she was great with Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, and Dragondrums but this series is wonderful! F'lar and Lessa are the perfict duo. I couldn't put this book down 'till I finished it (which was about a week). If your a fan of dragons you have to read this book! Ann McCaffrey has taken mythical dragons and turned them into wonderful creatures you just have to fall in love with. The plots are actualy beliveabl even though it takes place on a different planet and it's A.E. but it makes you wonder if there were really dragons. I just have to say buy it, I did and I LOVED it I read it 2 or 3 times at least!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Fabulous Review: Without a doubt, the most entralling, creative, and downright addictive series I have ever read. Anyone who's into sci-fi, fantasy, or just good writing will adore these books. Intelligent, sensitive, and astounding.
Rating: Summary: One of the all-time classic fantasy series'. Review: This trilogy is so enthralling and interesting that it's hard to put it down before finishing all three books. It's too bad that sleep is necessary and interferes with the reading. The charming affinity between the people and dragons and their telepathic connections was a new thing when these were written. The "Dragonriders" was actually "plowing new ground all the way" and was unique unto itself at the time. It has a lot of action and is well developed as a story and the characters are well done. I believe that it's up there with the best of the best in fantasy writing.
Rating: Summary: I have question Review: Is this book a good book for children? Please answer "yes" in the area where it says "Did this review help you" if it is for kids and answer "no" if it is not.
Rating: Summary: Dragonriders of Pern Review: I have always been a McCaffrey fan and buy her books as soon as they hit the shelf. I loved The White Dragon for its sensitivity in developing the main characters. McCaffrey's character have a lot of depth and you begin to think of them as friends after a while.
Rating: Summary: My favorite book ever! Review: This is my favorite book of all times. I have read it at least 20 times - and enjoyed it each time. My old copy is now falling apart, and I am ordering the new hardcover to replace it. I don't usually like fantasy or books about dragons, but this one is unique. I think it's the author's writing style that makes me enjoy the books so much. I love the characters, and the story line. The first few times I read it, I couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: Could've Been Slightly Better Review: Well, I was slightly disappointed. The writing was great, but typoes such as T'ton in DF instead of T'ron.
Rating: Summary: It was OK Review: Yeah, the books were great. The plot ran smoothly and it had just the right amount of everything for me, but I have one problem with it. In not just my edition of this book, but in some others I saw too, there were millions of spelling errors. I aslo was missing pages 757 to 788 in my book wich made me really upset. I hope this helps you.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: I finally read this book a few months ago, after hearing for years how good it was, and was quite dissapointed. I found the characters to be surprisingly shallow, and the quality of the writing was not up to par. It seems to me as if the plot was developed chapter by chapter. I know there are plenty out there who love this book, but I am not one.
