Summary: Brilliant!
Review: Last fall the students in my class brought The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches to my attention. I had heard of the book through Publisher's Weekly and a recent newspaper article featuring the book's author. I was amazed to discover the author has been featured on the likes of CNN, and also on radio, television and in print.

What really amazed me is that Robert Stanek has been called the "American Tolkien" and his books are rightly named the "Star Wars" of fantasy. In the books you find the light hand that made JK Rowling's Harry Potter so absolutely loveable and the depth of character and imagery that made JRR Tolkien the legend that he is. As Mr. Stanek is the author of over 50 books, I think it is about time that he gets the recognition he deserves and The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches is a brilliant start to one of the most wonderful series I've read in the last 50 years of my life.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the books. The life lessons they teach are wonderful. Through the actions of the characters the reader learns important life lessons: friendship, compassion, and values. This book is a diamond in a genre that is largely filled with formulaic novels. I can give the author, Robert Stanek, nothing but praise for the marvelous introduction to his fascinating world of Ruin Mist.

I have made this book required reading in my classes. Between 40 and 50 students will be studying this book and this author every semester. This book is an important part of my curriculum. Lastly, I want to say Thank You, Robert Stanek. You have made my job easier and renewed my faith in the fantasy genre. Jean

Summary: Escape to Ruin Mist
Review: Book Review The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches by Robert Stanek. A boy named Vilmos spent his life with people he thought he knew, then his whole life changed. He is found out and he must run to save them. He meets a most unexpected person who helps him and that's only the beginning of my favorite part of the book. I also like the story of Adrina who is mourning the loss of her mother. She sets out on a journey that will change everything in the kingdom. If you liked it, you'll love the sequels! There are four Keeper Martin books all together, including the one that I just interviewed. My favorite part was when Vilmos gets chased through the forest by the wolf beasts.

Summary: a great and magical book
Review: I really liked this book. The reason I liked this book is because it interested me! The story was about a brave boy ...that wanted to save his family, a girl princess and elves. Adrina is so sad. I cried for her and for Vilmos. I laughed a lot too like when they fight in the mud. I love this book very much!!

He was very smart. He makes good choices cause he has too but also cause its right. The most amazing thing about the book is that it has adventure, it has wizards, and a lot of fun.

Summary: Pain, joy, sorrow, friendship
Review: Mr. Stanek has written a great book and a worthy beginning to what will be an exciting epic fantasy series 'Keeper Martin's Tales'. It combines magic with strong characters and a strong plot. I loved and hated these characters. Stanek proves that just because you appear to be the bad guy doesn't mean you are and just because your on the good guys side doesn't mean your good either. I was swept away. I've read books 1-3. I cant wait for the next installment.

Summary: Our Review
Review: Forget Potter, read this. It's better! We've read quite a number of fantasy novels and this one is one of the best. Within the first three chapters we were hooked. We can't wait to get the other three Kingdoms and Elves of the Reaches books. We highly recomend this series and hope Robert Stanek writes many more books like this one.
