Summary: The Kingdoms and the elves
Review: This book will fascinate anyone who likes to read, or doesn't! It is the story of a boy named Vilmos, who has a dark power of magic. He is terrified of what might happen if his secret it discovered. But all of that is about to change when Vilmos finds out that magic isn't what he thought and he's not who he thought he was either.

This book is about Adrina the most saddest person in the world. She doesn't know how to deal with her mother's death and know one is there to help her. She doesn't have any real friends at least she doesn't think so. But all that is about to change when she meets a mysterious woman who tells her of a prophecy that she is part of. This and other things start to open her eyes to the world. She sees things different.

This book is Seth a warrior elf who has never been beyond the city he was born in. He is afraid of the world around him and all the "outside" world. He is a member of the mysterious Brotherhood and leader of the Red clan. That makes him powerful but he doesn't seem himself that way because of his insecurities. His closest friend is Galan, a girl he secretly loves but who he can never tell because of the bonds of the Brotherhood.

This book is about Emel a young guard. Emel is a true friend to Adrina who mistreats him and breaks his trust frequently. He has been to places beyond the kingdom and knows what the real world is like. He believes in Adrina when no one else does.

This is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read, and not only this one but all the kingdoms and the elves books. They let you become a wizard or a warrior or a princess or a guard for a brief moment while you read them, and let you explore a world that might just exist with us, or it might have existed at one time. I wouldn't put 5 stars to it, I would put ten.

Summary: Kingdoms and the Elves stole my heart
Review: I started reading this book because friends loved the books. I was quickly swept away into a very vivid and imaginative world. I felt like I had crawled inside the book and was living the life of Vilmos, Emel, Seth, Adrina and all their friends. I felt Adrina's pain while in Imtal, and Vilmos's frustration when he found out that he was special and was shut out from who he truly is. I would recommend this book to ALL AGES. It captivates the mind and keeps you hook from the first page.

Summary: The best
Review: No one writes as Mr. Stanek. His characters are strong and vulnerable in the same time. There is no simple good vs. bad storyline, but a complicated conflict between ideas and traditions.
No one is like Stanek!

Summary: A GREAT book for ALL ages!
Review: Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches impressed me tremendously and truley made my imagination come alive. A little put off by all the controvercy that surrounded the book when the series began to be published, I shied away. Also, I'm not one to read many books about elves, magic and dragons. However, after reading this series (in a matter of a week because I couldn't put them down!) I found all my preconceived notions died away as I was introduced into this new and magical world right along with Vilmos, Seth, Adrina, and Emel. Stanek's imagination took me by surprise. I laughed out loud at the characters and the writer's well thought out structure kept me riveted until the very last page. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a welcome escape from my day to day grind, as well as the books that followed, and I can't wait for the next one to be published!

Summary: Fantastic story!
Review: The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches by Robert Stanek is the best! Its not as all-consuming as the illustrious Harry Potter series, but it has that special something that die-hard Harry Potter fans will love! It's an epic story combined with magic and wonder and action and mystery. The creativity of this book flows from the rich history to the wonderful characters.

Stanek has a unique way of explaining folklore. Like for instance, the myths of the elves; elves and humans aren't buddies, their actually enemies. Magic isn't good it is tainted, evil. The world isn't the only world, their are doorways to other realms. Adrina Alder isn't a princess who needs saving, she's a chic who's going to save the world. She's got a bit of attitude Oh, I'm, giving too much away. Meanwhile a mysterious young man, Vilmos Tabborath, is a child prodigy of sorts, except that his speciality is magic which is bad bad bad. He seeks to control the bad and we delight in his personal struggles and challenges, knowing full well what's happening to him. Poor kid because his plans don't go as well as he had hoped.

Well as you can tell this tale is highly original, fun, and dynamic. It's an easy read for those of you who have difficulty reading books. It's easy to follow and it makes sense, in the same way that J.K. Rowling's writing makes does. The wording is made to make sense, not to confuse.

A big bonus is that there's a wealth of depth if you want to explore it. Like with the history of the world and the fact that every character has a history and seems real. So wonderful that all the characters have pasts, presents and futures. Excellent book as well as a series, I highly recommend it! Definitely a keeper!
