Summary: Disapointing
Review: This is most definitly not what I had expected. I agree with a previous reviewer by saying I would not be so disapointed, if the sister book, the Golden Compass wasn't so much better. It's moral ethics were thrown into oblivion. Let it teach a lesson that fantasy is good, but it's very hard to combine fantasy and this world. Now I don't want to be to hard on this book. It was very good and I read the whole thing in a week, when a book that size usually takes me a couple months. I think the biggest disapointment was in the suspence. It didn't have much till towards the end. Unlike in the Golden Compass where there was page turning suspence. However I still bought the book. I hope the next will be a little better.

Summary: A thought-provoking book!
Review: This was an amazing book, but I do think that it could have been better. I LOVED 'A Golden Compass' and this just barely matches the standers set by the first book. Still worth the read though.

Summary: A book that you just cannot put down till you are finished.
Review: I did not like fantasy books before, but after reading this book, my interest in books crowded around them. I am proud and glad that I had read this book, many people in here have not read it yet. This book added so many things to my knowledge. Anyone of any age, really, this is the book that you have to read, this is the book that you cannot miss!! I would like to know what the title of the last book is, and when it is coming out. ( It better come out soon, because I am dying of suspense.)

Summary: Just as good, if not better, than the Golden Compass!
Review: The Subtle Knife was great! It got confusing as they traveled from world to world, but it was still very interesting. It was full of suspense, and was very captivating. The beginning wasn't right where it left off on the Golden Compass, and I almost stopped reading. But after only a few pages, the new boy's life was every bit as exciting (and confusing!) as Lyra's adventures! With different identities in different worlds and different concepts of science (Dust, etc.) in the other worlds,it was complicated and, at times, hard to read. It lead you along through The City of the Magpies, the skies, the Indian tribes, and many other new exciting places with wonderful (and sometimes dangerous) creatures, stories, and places. You have to read the Golden Compass before you read this, or you'll be lost. I thought reading this was totally worthwhile, and I have only one question- WHEN IS THE THIRD BOOK GOING TO COME OUT?!?!?!?

Summary: This book was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This book left me hanging. I can't take the suspence anymore. I am just dying to see the third book. I want to find out what happens to lyra in the end.

Summary: If you liked The Golden Compass....
Review: ....You'll like this one even better!!! I haven't even finished the book yet (about half-way through), but it's still great. The only problem that I didn't like in this or The Golden Compass is the parts without the main characters (I get kinda bored.) That' the only flaw so far (besides having witches). I hope the rest is as good!

Summary: What a great book!!!!
Review: This was such a good book! it took me 3 days to read, just like The Golden Compass. It's really exciting, and it all makes sense enough that even I can understand it! Does anybody know when the third book is coming out? I hope soon, and this time the ending resolves the book. I couldn't believe that Will's dad was so close but so far, that was one of the bst parts of the book. The ending made me sooo mad. Overall, I think this and The Golden Compass were the best books I've ever read, right up there with The Time Trilogy by Madeleine L 'Engle and The Narnia Chronicles by C.S. Lewis.
