Summary: Better than its prequel, but definetely needs a good sequel!
Review: The Subtle Knife suprised me. It brought in Will, a kid looking for his father. Surprisingly, Will's father found a door to Lyra's universe from ours. Will met Lyra in Cittagaze, a bridge between Lyra's world and ours. The city is filled with adult-eating spirits, specters. Lord Asriel is also trying to kill god. This book kept my attention towards it, unlike the Golden Compass, which became boring at the middle of part 3. The Subtle Knife also had a very intriguing plot. Good job Phillip Pullman!

Summary: I loved The Subtle Knife
Review: It all started when I saw The Golden Compass on a shelf in my school library. After I finished it I was aching to know more. Lucky for me that was the week of the bookfair and I was able to get, The Subtle Knife. I couldn't put it down. This is a definate must read for all of Pullman's fans.

Summary: A second 'Lord of the Rings'? I think so!
Review: This is definatly one of the most sirring story, along with the Golden Compass, that I've ever encountered! Everyone who asks me what book I'd recommend to read, I recommend 'The Golden Compass', then 'The Suble Knife'. Everyone who's read them loves them! If you are thinking about getting either of these books, what's to think about? Get them, love them, and recommend them! P.S.- my handle on many an online registry is Lyra, can you guess where I got the inspiration?

Summary: This is one good book
Review: This book wasn't as good as the first, but it is close. I can't wait to read the third because this one is way to much of a cliff hanger. But at least you findout what the witches know about Lyra. And just the thought of that is a weird one. One thing I noticed is that Pullman is weaving each charrector's fates together in to one very good series. I can't wait to read the third, even though I'll be sad to see the series completed.

Summary: This is a fabulous book!!
Review: Lyra and Will journey through different universes to find their part in a battle between god, the angels, and humans. It is a great book! I couldn't put it down, it was so interesting. I loved it.

Summary: A great book for a rainy day.
Review: I borrowed this book off a friend after reading the first one ( it was released under the title of Northern Lights, here in Britain, but I think it was called The Golden Compass in the U.S.A) after a slow start, I finally got into it- then it ended! Slightly disappointing, but nevertheless a good book.

Summary: This book is one of the best around.

Summary: A Sequel better than the 1st
Review: I read the first, and I was impressed. I read this one, and I was totally amazed. This book is so vived. You get so attached to the characters. Will is a wonderful character, and Will and Lyra both together is even better. Read this book!!

Summary: Addictive
Review: This book is truly the best, most imaginative work since Tolkien. The way in which he captivates the readers attention is tremendous. This sequel, unlike others, is as good, if not better than the first book, Northern Lights. I strongly recommend this book. A great read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An all-terrific, fantastically written noval, about life.
Review: This is the most fantastic book that I have read since 'Northern Lights' - the 1st book in the series. Pullman is my favourite author - without exeption. I am avidly awaiting the third volume in this 'His Dark Materials' series. A must-read for all fans of fantasy.
