Summary: THE BOOK WAS MORE THAN GREAT!!!
Review: THIS BOOK WAS FANTASTIC!!!!! I put one star so you would read my review. This review I write is mostly to the ones who thought it wasn't right for people to read it. I do agree that it did bother me about the whole thing about God but it helped me realize how I was close to God. Besides that I LOVED IT. Somebody said that it was a terrifying book. Hello people this book is science fiction. And calling Will a murderer is wrong. It was the own guys fault in my opinion. Who ever hasn't read this book better go out and buy it right now. You are missing all the excitement. READ IT!!

Summary: exellent sequel!
Review: I just love this book! Philip Pullman not only knows how to create a original plot, but make an exellent sequel. I reccomend this book if you liked the previous book, the golden compass. I read the 2 first books of "His Dark Materials" in 2 days each. I have a person in my class that got the golden compass more than a week before me, and he's still reading it. I've already finished the golden compass and the subtle knife! If you like fantasy read the golden compass and the subtle knife. Also, think about getting the last book of "His Dark Materials".

Summary: AMAZING ... UNBELIEVABLE
Review: This book is the most exciting book I have ever read. I read it when I was 9yrs old, I am now 10. Lyra is the most super-duper girl in the universe of made -up people, I think all teenagers or children around 10,11 or 12 should read it. ...even adults.

Summary: Did anyone else think the names were significant?
Review: I'm just curious, because it really struck me on some of them, and no-one else has mentioned it. Asriel was Israel rearranged. Latrom is mortal backwards. Will is the opposite of destiny. I couldn't decide if I was reading something into it, or if there is something to this.

I loved this book and really want the third to come out soon.

Summary: Guy in San Jose- Go to hell
Review: I'm sorry I don't like to basemy feelings on how you rated this book even though I LOVED it. But you were the ones that tortured God knows how many people during the Inqusition and went on the crusades and killed thousands of Muslems(children included) and here you're insulting a FICTION book with FICTIONOUS characters of lying. Well I simply adored this book. I sat up all night reading it and the next day I went to Borders and picked up The Amber Spyglass.

Summary: Truly magnificent in its complexity ... an amazing tale ...
Review: The Subtle Knife has opened my eyes to more amazing conceptions, as does all of my favorite books. Such tales of alternate dimensions and mystical creatures have awed me since I have been able to read. Any person with a wonderful book and an overactive imagination can find themselves immersed in fabulous worlds and gripping nightmares. The Subtle Knife ranks among some of the top books I have read including J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy, Madeline L' Engle's A Wrinkle In Time quartet and several other amazing stories of grand things. Among fantasy novels my interests in books also lie with science-fiction, something that The Subtle Knife and its counterpart, The Golden Compass, can both tie in to. It amazes me that any person could weave such a tale of complexity and power. Unfortunately, all of the stories that I have ever written (none have been finished) cannot compare with such a tale that wraps within its own events or involves so many places and people. For any person who has not yet read The Subtle Knife it is something that you should not pass up. The story is one involving stupendous characters from the same places in different universes that can partially interact with each other, but not directly. To understand, one must truly read the book for one's self along with the first book, The Golden Compass. So I leave it to you, my dear readers, to follow your interests. Hopefully they will lead you to The Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife, for they are books that the fantasy/science-fiction reader should check in to.

Summary: For all those who hate to read and hate books
Review: This goes out for those who hate reading and books: YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR MISSING OUT ON!!!!! GET OFF YOUR BUTT, TURN OFF THE T.V., TURN OFF THE COMPUTER, GO OUT AND GET THIS BOOK FROM SOMEBODY [who i don't care, just GET IT!] SIT DOWN AND START READING YOUR BUTT OFF!!! If you don't like this book really do try this, ask yourself, WHERE IS YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR?! HUH?! AND ADVENTURE AND IMAGINATION?! FIND IT! Sorry, but those who continue to watch t.v. and refuse to even read a short chapter book will probably never experience the AMAZING ride Philip Pullman takes you on. I loved THE GOLDEN COMPASS and THE SUBTLE KNIFE. I've already read them more than twice and I am dying for the fianl book!! Please go out and read this book, you'll be glad you did. Philip Pullman really knows how to let you run wild with Witches, Armored Bears, Specters, and so much more. He really is a fasinating writer! I never had imagined anything like this until I bought the book at my school's Book Fair. Fanasties and sci-fiction books are my type of stuff. Lyra kicks it off in the second book just as stunning as the first [though I must admit I was a little disapointed that she didn't use the alethiometer as much as in the first one]. P.S. No offense towards anyone was attended, I just get very emotional when people waste their intelligent brains on t.v. so much!!
