Review: The Subtle Knife, a book of intense mysterey and enchantment, is at the same time a phycological path that brings back childhood images while breaking down a reality. Sharp turns in the plot and descriptive, flowing writing entrance the reader while giving them the feeling of looking at a Chris Van Aluhsburg picture. It is a story of human nature gone awry, the seperation of worlds, and a more disturbed time than that in wich we live.

Review: Dear Reader from San Diego, I certainly hope that you keep checking this page to see how people react to your comments. Oh, do I hope so. Even though I did, in all honesty, think that the Golden Compass was better, this is still one of my favorite books. WHERE, in the whole entire series, does it say ONE WORD about the devil or worshipping him? Isn't Lyra, who you say is what, a liar and constant truant? stuck between defending her father, herself, and her world? Doesn't Will, the "heartless murderer", spend a large majority the time in this book feeling bad because of a "murder" that he didn't even want to committ? Would you be able to deal with their problems under the circumstances? No, I didn't think so. So next time, PLEASE, think before you humiliate yourself!

Review: This book is absolutely fantastic! Even though its categorized as young adult -- it ranks right up there with any fantasy series! If you like fantasy, you must read this book!!! Am eagering awaiting book 3....!!!

Review: Look,reader from San Jose, just because you like these books doesn't mean that you worship Satan!I'm sorry that I've become one of the people to gang up on you, but, I mean...... Well, anyway,this book was preety good, but Will seems to be more of the main charachter than Lyra this time. All the same,I can't wait for The Amber Spyglass.

Now all we have to do is wait o "The Amber Spyglass" and we can finally find out what will happen to Lyra, Will and all of their aquantinces. His Dark Materials Trilogy could not have had a better book.

Review: The Subtle Knife is a great book. It has all sorts of cool twists and turns.It isn't exactly an easy reader but I've read The golden compass ( Which I personally think was great and don't pay any attention to those EFAAAL characters or whatever they are.)and this book and I can't wait to read the 3rd one coming out in October. (as far as I know) I hope it is as good as the 1st 2 books I read. Phillip Pullman is a great author!

Review: I discovred Philip Pullman by accident and am now a rabid fan. "The Golden Compass" and this sequel, "The Subtle Knife" are two of the most enchanting stories I have ever read! I have recommended them to my students, my friends and the reading discussion group I joined. Everyone who read these books loved them. To say anything else would spoil the story for other readers. Just go read these books and then join the rest of us in the long wait till April 2000.

Review: I have read the Golden Compass and the Subtle Knife, and they are both wonderfully exciting books! Phillip Pullman keeps you reading with such page-turners as these. Lyra and Will are enticing charachters, with spark, wit, and a real personality. The end of each book makes you hunger for the next, and so I can't wait for April 2000 when the Amber Spyglass comes out! Although, I will be sad for this suspense ful trilogy to end!
