Rating: Summary: Hillarious, Brilliant, Everything I'd expect from Allston! Review: I absolutely have to reccommend this book to everyone. I laughed so hard, sometimes I cried. I had fits of hysteria and, once again, people thought I was going crazy. But it's the BEST. I love it. It rules. I liked how everything was written (to my eyes) as if you were the protocol droid's head attached to WEDGE's shoulder (read it, then you'll get that joke and crack up.) But it wasn't long enough!! I wish it could have lasted forever. (I had it done within 3 hours of finding it on the steps at my house) So when's the next one coming out?? I insist that Wedge, Hobbie, Tycho, Iella and Wes are in it. Well that's all I have to say, anything else will spoil it. C-ya.
Rating: Summary: A typical X-Wing Series book. Brilliant. Review: The X-Wing Series books are (I feel) the best books in the Star Wars collection. And this book certainy stands up to the tough standard that the other books in the series have left.Wedge is finally back where he belongs, with Rogue Squadron, and is sent to a distant planet that up to now hows not sided in the great war. But now the planet has decided to make a side, either with the Empire or the New Republic. However, this planet does not like diplomats. The only people it sees worthy to negotiate are pilots. So that is where Wedge comes in. Hero of the Rebellion, and as far as I'm concerned, the greatest pilot in the history of Star Wars. But is not easy for him. With ambushes, treachary and much more, he and his three comrades never have a dull moment. A few parts may be predictable, but overall the story line is faultless. And true there are only 4 of them and not a whole squadron, but that is enough to make this a heart pounding book that will make you want to keep reading no matter what time it is, day or night. A superb book.
Rating: Summary: Awwww Yeahhh!!! Review: Can you say "It Rocked"? This book had to be one of my favorite all time Star Wars novels. I am not a huge fan of the multiple plots that jump all around because I find myself drawn to one plot and skim over the others and get bored. The single focus was enjoyable and Allston kept it interesting. Not to mention he used five characters that I all love and finally solved the whole Qwi thing (THANK YOU!!). Not only a good plot but this book had me chuckling though at times it grew a tad too silly. Kudos to you Allston!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book!! Review: I got this book along w/Isard's Revenge, and I read the Stackpole book first...one word. BORING!! I then read "Starfighters" and enjoyed it very much. We finally see the end of the blue fluff girl(Wedge gets smart), Wes is back(and funnier than ever), and the new culture that Alliston creates is a nice change from the Republic-Empire thing. I also might add that it's way too short, and there are just a few loose ends from the Wraiths that need to be tied up. Perhaps we could have a series tracing their adventures as an Intelligence squad?!?!
Rating: Summary: A different story than the usual X-wing book Review: I read this book in less than 24 hours. It is a change from the usual storyline of the other "X-wing" series books, and a refreshing change at that. Excellent depth, and quite humorous to boot! Although it does not appear to have anything to do with the previous stories in the X-wing chronicles, it is still a good book and adds depth to a few of the Rogues that we have come to know and love. All in all, definitely worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: Although I didn't like Solo Command I think this book is really good
Rating: Summary: A Great Addition to the X-Wing Series!!! Review: I am continually amazed by the great stories that both Aaron Allston and Michael Stackpole deliver in the SW: X-Wing series. These are some of the best Star Wars books available, and also the most under appreciated. They have strong plots, excellent character development, humor, action, drama, etc. "Starfighters of Aduamar" was no different. It falls in the continuity of the Star WArs timeline very well. Mr. Allston did his homework on this one. I especially liked the storyline about Aduamr, how it values fighter pilots as its most honored citizens. I also enjoyed the banter between the four Rebel pilots (Wedge, Tycho, Wes Janson, and Hobbie Klivan). It was great to see Allston bring Iella Wessiri back. She and Wedge are a great match. All in all a great read and highly recommended
Rating: Summary: A book that shows the human nature of the Rogues Review: This book keept me interseted the entire time. It did not rely totaly on battles and fighting. It is a nice change to see the humor and friendship between the Rogues, and how they relate to each other ouside the cockpit. A must read.
Rating: Summary: This book is good Review: This book gave a good insight in to the life of wedge antilles. Previous books in the Xwing series focused on corran horn and other members of the squadron, while leaving Wedge somewhat of a mistery. Now in this book not only does this show the trials and tribulations wedge is experiening do to his recent promotion to General but it begins his life away from the squadron. This book wasn't so much of an action novel, it still posesed the dogfights and commando missions, but what really kept my interest in this book was the revelation of wedge's life outside of the squadron. It put him in more of a human light.
Rating: Summary: Very interesting, but part of it ws unbelievable Review: I really liked the book, and I am glad that there was something new to read in the SW realm. The concept of the book was neat, and I really liked the humor of the book. It was good to see Wedge and Iella hook up. I really enjoyed the battles, but you have to admit, if you've read the book, that the escape from the palace was impossible. If the entire city is following four people, there will be more damage to them than one guy getting shot in his leg. But other than that one scene, the book was very good.
