Review: This was my introduction to Mercedes Lackey, and I have since tried to obtain and read everything she has written. It was great!! Vanyel is so believable; he's one of my favorite characters of all Misty's books. I was glad that I had the chance to be introduced to such a wonderful author's world. Read it, you'll enjoy it.

Summary: Incredible book, incredible author
Review: My Godmother, a very wise woman, gave me this book years ago. I read it in one sitting and then read it to my husband. This book is incredible. It is an excellent story whether you like action, romance, or tragedy. But more amazing is that it provides solace and teaches. Similar to many other reviewers, I read this book while going through a difficult time in my life. Even though my problems did not coincide with Vanyel's difficulties, his introspection and the Savil's wisdom helped me learn to trust myself. I gave this book to a friend going through an even more difficult time and she was comforted by this series as well. Peruse the reviews and see how many people have learned or were comforted by this book and the rest of the series. Mercedes Lackey has an incredible insight into the souls of humans. The story of Vanyel is a wonderful story in any event. I have never met a person who read this story and did not enjoy it. My husband did not to read it at first because of the homosexual relationships. Long before the end of the story he was cheering Vanyel on and yelling, "Kiss him!"

Review: There is just no other way to describe it. I usually do not get emotional with a book, but this one did it to me. I loved this book the moment I started. The characters just pull at your heartstrings, make you laugh, make you think, and so on. This is a must read book.

Review: This series provided an unexpected solace at a difficult time in my life. I have gone through what Van has. I cried for him and myself. These books have been my favorite for over 6 years now, and they will continue to be so. Absolutely for everyone to read.

Summary: THIS IS MY FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME
Review: I love this book so much, I have read it at least 10 times and it still retains its emotionally heart-wrenching feeling. Vanyel is so much like myself, and his story is so uplifting to all of those who have experienced difficulties and uncertainty in life that I would recommend it to anyone. I love Tylendel so much that I have been using Tylendel as an online handle for years now, and am even considering changing my name; this book has had that much impact on my life.

Summary: One of the best I have read since reading other books
Review: I like how Misty wrote the first of this series though I got so addicted to reading it, it was like I was starving. Anyway, to the point, I think that Vanyel had a lot to go through in his life and having these powers put into his hands helped wake something deep inside him, a caring that he never even knew he had. I am reading and WILLING to read the next book, book 2 of this series.

Review: I've never read a book like this one. Where other authors can make you feel like you're in the same room as the characters, Misty Lackey makes you feel like you ARE the characters. After reading Magics Pawn six years ago, I became a huge fan and now own every book there is about Valdemar and its friends!

Review: A beautifully writen and developed story. This story is a must have for any fantasy library. The perfect book for those going through puberty and above. The characters appear to come off the page, they are so real. I have read it many, many, many times and expect to read it many more.

Review: I have to admit that the beautiful artwork first drew me to this book, but when I read it, I HAD to read the others. I really enjoyed the unusual theme of gay relationships, and I applaud Mercedes Lackey's bravery and creativity in exploring gay relationships when it still seems to be such a taboo subject in many areas. But I don't want to give the impression that this series is a bunch of gay propaganda--it would be a beautiful story no matter what. I just love the world she has created here, and all three books in this series are a permanent part of my personal library.

Review: I loved this book!!! Before i started to read this i was already kind of use to the "gay aspect" (from reading some stories by very talented authers that aren't published and probably never will be) reading this book only help reinforced it. Where i live a lot of the people wouldn't even think people could be gay is all right but if they read this book i think they might change their minds (i sure HOPE so). This book made me cry from since Tylendel died till the end of the book. I wish that Mercedes Lackey would tell us what really happened to Vanyel and Stefen at the end of the Mage storms series and maybe even write a some thing more about them in a new book....Magic's Pawn is definatly my favorite book.
