Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good, but not as good as the first two in the series.
Review: This book tends to get weighted down by religious dogma. And, at times, Kate seems to have forgotten continuing character development in favor of a fast paced storyline. However, I still found the book enjoyable. Only slight disappointment.

Summary: Great!!!!!!!!
Review: As always Kate Elliott delivers a masterpiece - one for everyone who likes fantasy. I just got the book two days ago and I could not put it down. I mean I stayed up past three in the morning to read it. Liath is my favorite character, and I think that it was as well written as the first two and her Jaran series. It is one I will read again and again. Two thumbs up!!!!!

Summary: GOOD
Review: The book is real in a way that other fantasy books are not. It is not just characters going about but a real tale. The book reveals tidbits as you read with some major changes that slighlty throws you off. Hell I thought that Elliot killed off what I thought to be the most intriging character. A rich world and book that had me wanting more. That more will be revealed and that I won't have to wait a couple of years for the final book.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: Kate Elliott has found her stride with this series. Each book builds on the previous one, deepening characterizations, delineating with absorbing complexity the political and magical interrelationships. With this book she also adds further dimension by tying in the world's history, and by affording glimpses of other worlds and alien paradigms.

Yet she does not lose sight of the concrete details that make her characters live and breathe. I don't dare put any comments about individuals, but oh, I do hope book four features Alain...

Summary: Had Potential
Review: I just love Elliott's books! Okay, so I didn't really like this book in particular, talk about repeating things to the max! I believe this book should have deserved about 32 stars, but just because I loved all of her previous books, 3 stars is a must in a way. Oh well, maybe the next book will be better.

Summary: Heh
Review: The books not even out yet, I just wanted to be the first person to review it. Judging by the first two books, it's an excellent read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Awesome
Review: While some may think that Kate Elliotts books are to long or have to many characters, I find that both are excellent qualities in a book. How can one imagine them selves in such a world without the insight of the many characters in different living classes and situations? I must disagree with any review that says that these books are to long or have to many characters. Also while the books are written for adults, I that many teenagers (like my self) who like to read sci fi fantasy will enjoy these books if they give them a try.

Summary: Burning stone burns up pages
Review: I really loved this book. Kate Elliot has by far proved that she can write a series and keep her readers intested. This book was hard to put down and well worth buying in hard back. I was well pleased and can't wait to read the next book. I would like to see a creative mind make a movie, or cartoon based on these books. I feel many kids would really get into the story line.

Summary: The Burning Stone
Review: The book is good, but at times it drags. There are points where I would have preferred more information and points where you just want here to get on with it. So far the whole mess with the Eika seems pointless, except to give them someone other than themselves to fight with. She gives just enought hints and clues to interest most people, but the true fantasy reader will find her frustrating to some degree. I would recommend the book, but I would be sure to warn people that it isn't the best work I have seen.
