Rating: Summary: If you buy 1 book, buy this one Review: Norton and Lackey come together for one of the best stand-alone novels ever. This book has everything a fantasy lover could want; elves, dragons, half-elves, 3 systems of magic, evil empires, and ancient prophecies. This book also has all the hallmarks of classic literature, such as characters you can empasize with, romance, betrayal, and a host of other elements. As a fantasy book, it stands without peer.
Rating: Summary: The Elvenbane Review: It took me a total of 5 hours to read this book. That is how engrossed I was in the story line!! It has wonderful magics and a world that draws you into the story line as surely as if you were Lashana. The world of magic and mystical creatures has always been a fascination for me and this book certainly left no disappointment!!

Rating: Summary: An incredible read Review: Before reading this evew, please take into account the fact that I am slightly prejudiced; this is my favorite book of all time. The thing I love about this book is the way it destroys stereotypes. In this book, elves are evil beings, humans are stupid, and dragons are either lazy or terified of being discovered. There are no people fighting all that is bad in the world because they want to, instead they tend to run away as fast as possible. When you have been reading this book for sometime, and hen put it dow, prepare to take 10 to 15 minutes in order to readjust to reality. A few people I have lent this to have also experienced this, so It's not just MY overactive imagination. There are some minor problems. By about half-way through the book, the alliances of all the main characters are clear, so it's fairly obvious what will happen in the end (although the details are surprising). The book also leaves someting of a cliff-hanger, remedied by the sequel, Elvenblood (although this too has an ambigous ending). In all, if you like realistic, gritty, and above all well-written ficton, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: A great book Review: This book is a masterpiece of simplicity. The basic story is full of emotion, and unlike all the new writers who get paid by the word, this one cuts in words in such a way you don't have to look at the dictionary every third word or so and yet it doesn't lessen the story one bit, on the contrary, it makes it more enjoyable and easier to read! The two witers used very basic elements in this story, dragons elvens and humans, but the mix is quite new and very interesting, in fact their world is very diffrent from the Forgatten Realms/ DnD, so you will finish the book saying "this IS a fantasy book but I've never read a fantasy book that resemble it." The reason this book gets 4 stars and not 5 is that although the story is diffrent it is quite predictable (some people like it better though), and although the world they created is diffrent the book in general is not thought-provoking (althoug in general fantasy books are not thought- provoking), and the characters could have been more complex (that DOES resemble old Forgatten Realms books).
Rating: Summary: ** An unexplainably beautiful fantasy ** Review: This book was simply incredible. What a spectacular job Mercedes and Andre do of creating such emotion into words on a paper. The very thought of that book fills me with swelling anticipation of how good a fantasy really can be. To me it created an entirely new world, something that was so real I can picture it with ease. If you really want to experience a fantasy filled with every kind of emotion, from dizzying romance, to boiling hatred, you have found it.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, absolutley wonderfull!!! Review: This book was fantastic! I absolutley could not put it down! I first saw it at a horse ranch and ended up smuggling it back with me (I returned it, of course!). It was beautifully written and it seems the book got only the best qualities of both the writters. I was so dissapointed when it was over and not because the ending, (it was great) but I wanted to keep reading. Luckily, the sequel was next to be read...immediatley! If you only half like Mercedes Lackey or Andre Norton and have only a little of an idea what a dragon is you WILL like this book! I hope this is a very LONG series. Please Ms. Lackey and Ms. Norton...keep writing!
Rating: Summary: The Elvebane/Elvenblood Rock Review: I was first attracted to the book by the cover, which are the wrong reasons...but as I got to reading it, I could not stop..and was thrilled to see that there was a second book to the series ( Elvenblood)...Mercedes and Andre Norton are great novelists, and keep me intriuged with thier amazing stories.
