Rating: Summary: A Great Book For 13 and Up Review: This book is an exciting novel for many ages. This book was obviously one of the greatest novels Weis and Hickman have ever writen. This thriller showed some of the greatest characters I have ever read. There isn't much more to say without giving away the plot, so I hope you read this book and enjoy it as much as I did!
Rating: Summary: Very Enjoyable Book Review: This book was better than the first in its series. The mystery of the one god get better and the characters that were at first fairly annoying are now enjoyable. I would reccomend this book because I am eagerly awaiting the third book to come out. Sorry havin a little bit of writers block so instead of making you suffer anymore im done.
Rating: Summary: good Review: the first book of this series, was ok, and i was a little worried about where it would be heading next. luckly, i was happily suprized. i wont go into much detail of the book, but i will mention a few things. first; im sorry but Silvanoshei drives me crazy. he is to stupid for me to handle! now, dont get me wrong, he is a great character and all, he just has apsolutly no clue what so ever about anything. he is too busy flirting with Mina to care at all about his people, and it drives me crazy! second; i loved Mina. she is one of the most intresting characters to grace the written page, and that last twist at the end makes her even more intresting. third; i liked Gerdill (ok i know i didn't spell it right, sorry) he isnt one of those tipicle heros, that are so thick about saving the day that end up forgetting what they were fighting for in the first place. to me, he is another great character who dosn't get enough credit. but thats just me. fourth; Dalmar. he didnt quite come off as i hoped he would. a lot of his personality had changed, only slightly, but it was still noticeable, and while i understand that he cant be etsacly the same, i was hoping for a little more similarites. fith; this is a great book, and the bottum line is that u have to read it. i found it better than dragons of a fallen sun, if not quite up to the orginals standereds. all i have to say is that this is a must read for any dragonlance fan. enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Well worth the read! Review: I've always been an avid fan of the Dragonlance series. Perhaps it was the structured world or magical setting that appealed to me. Nevertheless, such has resulted in years of immersion ' downright addiction. Imagine my disappointment when I read Dragons of a Fallen Sun! With all the magic I was previously fascinated with supposedly gone, my interest in the series itself dwindled as well. All I could do was sit tight and hope the upcoming sequel would shed some light on the predicament inhabitants of Krynn were in, hopefully bringing magic back to life. Then came the day I borrowed Dragons of a Lost Star from a classmate. Impressive! Once again, I was swept off into a dark world filled with evil. Mina continues to lead her army deep into the lands, seemingly unstoppable with the might of her 'One God.' I was slightly disappointed when the heroes I had gotten know began dying, but overall, this book is certainly worth the read. I can't wait for the last of the trilogy to be released, revealing whatever fate to come in this dynamic series.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I've always read DL - from chronicles up to all the prequels- at least until the new age opened. The new age was an aberration in every way and i'm glad that DL is going back to where it ought to be. that having been said, i'm very disappointed in this book. from all the reviews i've read, i expected it to blow me away. it did but unfortuantely in a way i really hated. for the hardcore weis and hickman fans, remember death gate cycle and dark sword and you'll understand what i mean. please, tas has already died (in chronicles 4)! can't you leave him in peace? besides, he's supposed to be with flint! this implies there are two tases and that's more than anyone can take!
Rating: Summary: Cha-Boing Review: This by far is THE best book I've read to date. I am a huge Dragonlance fan, and all other books were great, but this one has so much drama, action, love, suspence, it will keep you hanging. I am very IMPATIENTLY waiting for the follow up Dragons of a Vanished Moon.
Rating: Summary: So many possibilities! Review: This novel has rekindled my love for Dragonlance... as much as I loved Vol 1, I was still doubtful after the many novels of differences between events/heroes,same story lines, etc. Mina fits the part of a real sinister villain... with hero-like attributes to boot! The only thing I can really say (without spoiling anything is that if your a DL fan... don't hesitate to pick this up... find a way to get the money for the hardback :)!
Rating: Summary: A classic!!!! Review: This book ,the whole trilogy will become a classic ,a must for the fantasy fiction readers,or I am a bearded gnome , a doorknob, and so dumb that even Tass cant find a suitable enough taunt for me!!!!!Thank you Margaret and Tracy ( I think that after having read so many books by you,I can refer to you this way :-) )Cant wait for the final book..READ THIS STUFF!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: good, but not as good as the first dragonlance books Review: i liked this book, but i feel that over time margret weis and tracy hickman's writing has degraded from the wonderful quality of the first three dragonlacne books. i think that this book is good but a little more funny than the origanl and there fore looses some of the quality that margret and tracy have shown in the past.
Rating: Summary: A good read Review: I have just finished reading this book so it is still fresh in my mind. First, I would like to say this is an ok book, but much better compared to the first one in the series. There are some interesting events but overall the story itself is rather weak. The major criticism I have is that I do not find the characters likeable at all. Above all, I really do hate the creepy Joan of Arc character Mina. All right all ready with the "one true god", that seems to be the only thing she ever say! Not interesting and very 2 dimensional. Every time Mina appears with her talk of "one true god" I just want to slap her silly and tell her to shut up. Infact most of the characters in this series are utterly unlikeable. No one I really care about and can identify with. However, the book does get better towards the end. The best plot by far is revolved around Lauranna and the battle of Qualinesti, the ending of which I did not expect. I have to say, unlike some of the reviewers here, I really had no idea who the one god was until the very end and it was a surprise. Now back to the story, I really did not care much about it, the story so far (the first as well as the second book) is all about Mina's obession with the biddings of her one true god. Seems like what ever the god wants, happens. Mina, through her god also anticipated all the events that will happen so it seems like all the characters are just going through the motions. The element of surprise is not there anymore because whatever anyone do does not matter. By having the one god knowing everything, and everyone having no choice except to bid her will is a wrong plot device. It makes all the characters distant and unimportant. As I said before, Mina is annoying and her gang is uninteresting, Silvanoshei is whinny and boring, Gilthas is ok, Tas is ok, Dalarma and Palin became a bit interesting towards the end as well as Goldmoon. The gnome is always funny, by far one of the best characters. Gareth is better in this book but still not likeable nor is he unlikable. The chapter I like best involves Mirror, but his storyline is far too short... With that being said, the book is very well written, too bad for the lousy storyline, a good read only for fans wanting to know what happen after the Chaos war. Personally, I can't wait for the next book and hopefully Weis and Hickman can redeem themselves.
