Summary: one of his best
Review: what can I say about this book. it is by far one of my favorite heinlein books. the story in brief is this. a small time pastor awakens after walking over hot coals on a vacation on a dare. when he wakes up reality as he knows it has changed, in which everyone thinks he is someone else. he spends all his time switching between universes towards a point where in he hopes to find out two major questions

who is doing this to me?

and why are they doing it?

Summary: Absolutely the Best of Mr. Heinlein !!!
Review: I read this book some good years ago, and I was stunned by its surprising, accelerating events that took form. Lazarus Long must be jelaous ! Forget about being the oldest man in universe, forget about rejuvenation and red headed twins...this book deserves to be put on a wall of Fame !!! Without revealing anything about its contents, it is a new-way-to-look-at-things-kind of a book. Is there any chance that Robert Heinlein AND (DNA) Douglas Adams are relatives ??? What are the chances in this universe, that two authors make me laugh my teeth off ? However, this is a review about "Job...", not about D. Adams ! If You haven't read this one, make sure You do it !!! You won't regret it.

Summary: Great book, little weird. Very interesting views.
Review: Throughout my experience in reading Heinlein I have discovered his bizaar views on religion. His views on women and sex. This book was very exciting and there weren't very many boring or slow reading parts. The thing that captured me the most from this book was Heinlein's Views of Heaven Vs Hell. If you have not read this book yet, you must do so.

Summary: Religion with a sense of humor...
Review: This is the first book I've read by Heinlein so I can't compare it to his other work, but I can say that I did enjoy the book immensely, especially the views of Heaven and Hell. I just couldn't seem to put the book down!

The character of Margrethe could have been fleshed out a bit more. I never really warmed up to her. Her speech seemed a bit subservient to Alec much of the time, but her actions were otherwise. She obviously had a strong will and wasn't afraid to take a stand when she felt it was necessary, even if Alec didn't approve.

The beginning dragged just a bit for me, but from then on I was hooked and the book moved along fairly well and the ending was great! I would definitely recommend this book, especially if you have any interest in ideas about religion. But be warned, a sense of humor is in order. :-)

Summary: Heinlein vs. Cabell
Review: I liked the book, until I found James B. Cabell's "Jurgen: A Comedy of Justice" (written in 1919) to be much better. Check out Cabell's book! I think it's even available in electronic format.

Summary: Answers all questions, boggles the mind
Review: My pesonal favorite by Heinlein, it encompasses all corners of life

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Guaranteed to make you re-think religion, sex...if you dare
Review: J.O.B. - A Comedy of Justice is not for those afraid to think. And, re-think. Like many other RAH books it takes society and its bedrock ideas and makes us look at them again. This, along with Stranger and Farnham's Freehold is probably the best of RAH. With the Lazarus Long books running a close second. <G>

Summary: Mind-grippingly-funny
Review: Read this book a few years ago...and i can still picture the que into heaven!!!! It will turn out that when we die, heaven or hell, will just be one great big logistics opperation.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An all-encompassing religious thought piece
Review: This book, while being an entertaining read, was also something more - a thought piece on the viability of some existence outside the conventional wisdom which exists in human religion to date. The question of which group of believers is right is presented in an insightful and thought provoking way - in the spirit of Mark Twain's Letters from the Earth. If you like to think about existential matters, and can put your beliefs to the test, this is the book for you!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Life, love, and the pursuit of happiness
Review: If you've ever gone looking for the 'meaning of life', read the book and you'll quickly discover that you couldn't avoid it if you had to. The poor guy in this story didn't have a chance. I read this book a couple of times, lent it to a girl in '92, - haven't seen it or her since. An enthralling story about justice, and mercy, and fate, and Diety, and 'it isn't fair' - all wrapped up in a bed of hot coals.
